Course Curriculum Overview

5

The courses are way more of relevance after the new education policy as they have added more skill based courses and value addition courses. Also giving a lot of choices under these gives a student higher satisfaction from the studies and builds them for a brighter future. As now we have 7 subjects per semester it is harder for some students maybe to study all of them in 4 months as in the 5th month we will have the semester exams, so the students has to be highly active in the classes to learn to their fullest and be more involved in the studies to excel in the college. Currently I am persuing eco Hons so it gives a lot of knowledge of how the economies works and money works. It has a lot of practical applications. It also involves a lot of mathematical theories so the student should have a good hold in basic and advanced mathematics. 11th and 12th grade maths concept are of high application in the eco Hons course. The courses also has some theoretical subjects that makes it easier for to handle practical and theory together with ease and effectiveness.

Internships Opportunities

5

Placements cell offers many internship opportunities and I believe 100% of the students who want to get into a company as an intern gets easily into it. Is able to learn effectively through live industry experience. I am also into one internship now and I got that with complete ease also my friends got them. The internships offer quite reasonable amount which makes it easier for students to handle their monthly expenses.

Placement Experience

5

We have a quite active placement cell in our college which get a lot of jobs and internships opportunities for the students for the 2nd and 3rd year for making it easier for the students to get placed in the top reputed companies. Accenture, DE shaw, associates etc are some of the big companies that came in our placement drives and there are many other companies that you can check anytime on the Internet. Highest package in our college is around 35LPA and avg is around 7-8 LPA. Around 60% of the highly interested students gets placement in our college. Currently I am also under the placements and looking for some good offer to come and start my career in some big company

Fees and Financial Aid

In DU we have to pay yearly fees and also we have to pay the examination fee for each semester i.e. twice a year. Yearly fees for eco Hons is around 11500 and examination fees is around 1100-1500 per semester. We also have merit cum need scholar for either the top performers or for economically weaker section which varies from 20-30-50-80% amount of the total yearly fees.

Campus Life

4

Annual fest, freshers fest, diwali bash etc keeps on taking place in our college regularly makes into a fun loving environment of celebrations in the college campus. Library is also quite big with many fo the book easily available. Each classroom has projectors and proper lighting and ventilation. Currently some are air conditioned but not all may in the future we will see it in all the classrooms.

Admission

Kirori Mal College is one of the reputational college under the Delhi University. It has best pairs of alumni and best pairs of teachers. Also has a very nice college campus which is quite big and fulfills the need of enthusiastic students with more grounds, gyms, badminton court, boxing ring, basket ball court, etc. I have applied to many other Delhi University courses and college like bcom prog and Hons in SRCC, HINDI, HANSRAJ, Stephen's etc. Got rejected from all these just because of the a little lesser marks in CUET Exam. So CUET is now the exam which allows you to take admission into any of the Delhi University college. All the subjects you have studied in the class 12th are part of your CUET exams and you have give all those exams and then you will be eligible for courses that a open for the students like you who have studied these particular set of subjects in class 12th. Also there is a general ability test which is just normal aptitude, verbal and current affairs. You have to be in the top 5% of the students to become a part of the top college in Delhi University and come to the north campus which the dream of many students

Faculty

5

Faculty ratio in the college is around 1:15/20 and that fulfills the need of the interested students completely and effectively. Now for the course structure, there are 3 core discipline subjects under each course which are directly related to the course a student is enrolled into and has no scope of choice or change, all students under same course has to study them. After this we have a Generic elective i.e. (GE) Course where a lot of variety of subject choices are given to them out of the course subject to diversify their field of study and their overall knowledge criteria. Then we have three more subjects from which students can choose those are SEC ( Skill enhancement course), VAC( value addition course) and AEC( ability enhancement course). Students gets to enhance their language for any of the language they choose under AEC. Also get a way to improve any of their skills like excel, coding, marketing, accounting etc under the SEC courses as per their choice. And VAC offers subjects like Indian tradition, history, psychology, etc to learn more about human behavior and the values cultures and traditions of different varieties.

Interview Experience

5

No there were no group discussions or interview for getting admissions in the college but we do have to give CUET that is a MCQ based test to get entry into any of the Delhi University colleges under any degree.

Night Life

4

I have not been enough in the night time in the college campus but as per some experience I can say that it is quite safe for all, there is proper lightings everywhere. Gym, canteen, library are open for around 8PM in the night so gives a nicer environment and more time for the hostellers to enjoy in the campus or study effectively in reading rooms with free wife and air conditioning.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
