Course Curriculum Overview

5

I had interest in aviation sector and robotics so mechanical was an obvious choice i initially wanted to go into cs owing to the hype but now i realise that i couldn't have done it. Plus this college is really good for my course. Here we get hands on experience with the machines operating the lathe and everything. The labs are interesting and many doubts of class infact get clear in labs. Exams some are tough but not as much as jee so it is alright. We can spare out a good amount of time for other interests. It just feels that there is a const pressure of exams. There are assignments then class tests then mids then assignments class tests mids.

Internships Opportunities

4

As per my knowledge there are intership rounds that happen in 3rd year something not so sure of the process. But dual students which is not not available the course is discontinued we will get a stipend of around 12 to 15k a month on our 5th year.

Fees and Financial Aid

If the anual income is greater that 5 lakhs u have to pay the full tuition fees which is 2 lakhs an year plus the extras and the hostel if your anual income is less than 5 you have to pay 1/3rd of the tuition fees and if less 1 lakh the course is free. Sc,st and pwd category students have full fee remission the sum total of fees for my course without any waiver would be around 12 lakhs

Campus Life

4

We have 4 fests ashwamedha, alma fiesta, wissenaire, e summit all of them are not so good. I went to iit r fest and it felt like the campus itself is alive. But here it is kinda dull. This is not what you would expect in an iit. The library is good enough any book i need for the course is there plus we have subscription of matlab kind of things. The lecture halls are 120 seater and 60 seater it depends on the class strength for a particular course. We have sealing speakers collar mike a podium 2 white board 1 black board and one smart board in the classroom. Sports is really active in the campus student regularly go for practice one team is made for inter iit and stuff we participate in other college fests to.

Hostel Facilities

5

Mess quality is fine not good not that bad it is edible we get room with single occupancy. Hostel is actually very affordable 18000 is the mess fees for 4 months we get food 4 times. You have to be in the hostel if you are in any iit i believe you cannot choose to rent a room off campus plus there arent any good room or pg nearby.

Admission

I applied for all the top iits but i wasnt getting either cs or mech or aerospace in them so i went for this iit. I would've gotten comfirm admission in good colleges of maharashtra because mhtcet score was good(99.3) but when i got an iit i didnt even sit for the counselling of bits/mhtcet/vit etc. You can admitted to my college based on your rank in jee adv.

Faculty

5

Faculty to student ratio is good and I feel my department (mechanical)is very good in this college. The faculty is supportive they teach properly clear the doubts and we can get a project under them. The faculties are supportive enough for one's good self development. I like venu gopal sir and soham roy Chowdhury sir as it feels like they really love the subject and they want to teach the students.

Night Life

5

We have a readinf room which is opened from 7 am to 2 am one library opened from 9 to 9 in week days and 9.to 5 in weekends. There are some canteens some open during day some open during night we have one shopping complex some stationaries. I believe every hostel has one stationary, one night canteen some alsongave fruit shops and salons.there are no restrictions whatsoever on in and out of hostels after 10 we are supposed to do entry in the register thats it. SAC nescafe auditorium parking area are some hangout places to begin with and every hostel has some common room where again students can hang out. Inside the campus it is safe to roam there are security guards present almost where i go.

Exams are conducted continously with no gaps and its not a easy stuff students get lot of stress but still somehow manage.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
