Course Curriculum Overview

4

My Branch is civil engineering because my rank in jee advanced was not so good but opting IIT Roorkee for doing Civil Engineering was my choise because of its old legacy in civil. Under civil Department there comes 6 department including 1) Transportation engineering 2) Hydrology 3) Structural engineering 4) Environmental engineering 5) Geotechnical engineering 6) Hydraulic engineering Although is first year they taught us basics like mechanics , maths, physics and infact in first year we have c++ as one subject our curriculum also include subjects like Humanities and Enterpenireships for personality development

Internships Opportunities

2

Getting internship from a branch like civil engineering without having any skill that make you different from other is next to impossible. For having a internship in a good company one needs to develop skills like web development because most companies that provide internships are mostly technical.

Placement Experience

3

Campus placements starts after completion of degree although students apply for internships from 3rd year, many companies like amazon, google, Microsoft, flipkart, TCS, wipro, and many core companies like dr. Reddy, relience visit our campus for placement. But it becomes really difficult to get placement in a core company because of competition almost 80-90% students of my branch got placed most of them in non core. Highest package go around 50 lpa and average go around 15-20 lpa. I am also planning to get placement after completing my degree

Fees and Financial Aid

We pay fee every semester that include a turion fee of rupees 1 lakh and hostel and mess fees of 53,500 Mess and hostel fees reduces in second semester to 38000 but tution fee remain same 1 lakh also there is one fee waiver for students from economically weaker class, categories like sc st dont have to pay the tution fees

Campus Life

4

Our annual Cultural fest is quite famous and its name is Thomso. It is a 3 day event where many big artists and students from different colleges come to perform and showcase their art. Thomso generally held in month of October. Our annual technical event is coignizant it is also quite famous where bright minds from all over country come to display their ideas and innovations We have one of the biggest library Mahatma Gandhi Central Library it charges ?250 every semester and we can borrow any book from their without any extra fees. In classrooms we got plugs to charge laptops and professors have access to both digital or black board We have almost every sports including football, cricket, hockey, swimming, bad minton, and indoor sports like snooker, pool, chess, table tennis, foosball etc We have both cultural as well as technical clubs some of them are cinsec, drams, knox, robocon, infosec, sds(software development section) After completing first semester most of the students start preparing for these clubs because of high demand every tech club takes a test and interview for admission in that club .

Hostel Facilities

3

We have one wifi router, triple sharing rooms, one balcony, and 3 almirah, 3 fans in our room Our mess offered 3 time meals brrakfast lunch dinner in breakfast we get boil egg, milk, bread, jam, butter, etc we get non veg two times a weak. Registration process for hostel was very simple we got to know about our rooms and roommates even before going to the hostel we just have to mark our presence that i had occupied my room.

Admission

I was getting civil engineering in iit kanpur, iit madras , iit kharagpur, iit roorkee but because of iit roorkee being famous and well reputated in this deild i chose it. The admission process is quite simple and famous we gave a exam called jee maina qualify that then we give jee advanced then we apply for jossa councilling.

Faculty

3

Some professors are good some are worst one of our prof Sanjeev Kumar he teaches maths really well explain each and every topic takes extra classea if required but Another prof BK Patra he literally torture us gives so many assignment dont even taught us very well expect us to study on our own. For every semester there is one mid sem or one end sem exams weightage of end sem is 50% and mid sem is 25% and 25% weightage is of practicals or assignments, the difficulty of exams also depends on the prof who are preparing the question paper sometime it becomes very difficult and sometimes it becomes moderate but it doesn't effect much because of relative grading system

Night Life

5

We have a student clun where facilities like play stations, pool, chess, table tennis etc are there also in evry hostels there is one tv room where a smart tv is present so we can enjoy a movie night there also there is gym in every hostels and one central gym for all students we have 24 hour access to canteen where we go to pass our time also we roam around the campus on cycles in night time or we can even go outside the campus at any time. There is no such boundation on hostel timings we are free to leave and come hostel whever we want

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is highly relevant, focusing on practical knowledge for real-world prep, though more hands-on application and updated content would strengthen it. Exams occur 6 times yearly; they are tough but fair for the course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of its affordability and the teaching quality of this college is good . They helps in choosing the real life application based projects . Teaching methods are impressive but they don't provide notes . We have make notes by attending class regularly. Frequency and timings of exams are of 3 hrs. For each subject . Difficulty level is moderate and students can prepare it well in the gap days also .
