Remarks
The college is run by the central government so their is a picture of delay in some actions. But in case of academics and food there is no such delay. But the college is working on it. In bear future there won't be any such scene.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is similar to other engineering but only in the duration of the course that is four years. The topics covered in it are different from any other engineering as thermodynamics stays with you for your entire life which will take the name Internal Combustion Engine later on
Placement Experience
Well placements are a big issue in this field but only if you are having a backlog. Scholarships are given according to the percentage scored and merit list. There is no such thing as stipend or something.
College Events
All the events which are related to the field of shipping along with the national holidays also includes the seminars of oil companies and debates. The company IOCL recently conducted a debate for the students of this college
Fee Structure And Facilities
You are given government subsidy for pursuing this course as 9lakhs for years incudes fees of hostel,food, books, notebooks, uniforms, and tuition fees.In private institutions the same course requires more than 14lakhs for the same.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are being given according to the rank scored in the semester exams. The rank is taken into consideration at the university level and a merit list is made according to which scholarships are being awarded.
Campus Life
Well the college campus consists of a hockey ground, football ground,cricket ground, basketball court, badminton court, and TT tables, and yes there are labs as required. Also worth mentioning the campus consists of an auditorium with a seating capacity of 1200
Alumni/Alumna
The field is only successful for a cadet if he or she is helped by the seniors. Alumnus are always connected to their college that's why the college has got its own leagcy since 1949. Without the help of seniors the cadets stand nowhere in this field.
Admission
After 12th I appeared for an entrance exam named IMU-CET in which the questions were related to what you have studied in class 11th and 12th. The subject asked were Physics, Chemistry and Maths along with English and General knowledge
Faculty
Some of the faculties are pass outs of the same college only but the great part is 90 percent of the faculties are from the same field only. The teachers here are supportive in every manner but the thing is the cadets have to be in discipline in return
