Course Curriculum Overview

3

the B.Tech course curriculum is comprehensive and job-oriented, but it requires timely updates to stay relevant. While the foundational principles are well-taught, there is a need for more practical exposure and industry-aligned courses. Teaching methods should shift towards interactive, student-centric learning, and exams should test both theoretical and practical knowledge. Despite these areas for improvement, the curriculum provides a solid foundation for academic pursuits and career growth

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure in our college is based on category wise for General it is different for obc it is different and for lower cast it is different, and it is also classified on the basis of family income. In my case I belong form Obc category and family income lies below 1 lac so I have to pay 67k per year( per semester 32,500k ) including all charges and message fees. Admission fees- 1000 Library fees- 500 IT system fees- 1100 T and P charges- 500 Transport facility - 500 Medical facility - 300 Examination fees - 1200 Gymkhana sports fee - 1500 Mediclaim insurance -270 Hostel seat rent - 1500 Light and water charges -1000 Cable tv - 130 Mess stabilisment -1500 Sub Total -11,000 And Mess fees - 22,500 Total - ? 33,500 For my batch mates one of my batchmates has income more than 1 lack and less than 5 lac so he have to pay his tution fees also which is ?20,833. So total of ?54,333 And for family income more than 5 lacs they have to pay 62,500 for tution fees with other charges like mess fees and hostel fees. For me I have applied for 3 scholarships, Reliance scholarships , NSP Scholarship and FFE scholarship and their results yet to come. Some others scholarship are IDFC FIRST Bank Engineering Scholarship Provides up to ?1 lakh per annum for four years to students with an annual family income not exceeding ?6 lakhs. ?3? **IDFC FIRST Bank Engineering Scholarship** Provides up to ?1 lakh per annum for four years to students with an annual family income not exceeding ?6 lakhs. ?6?ONGC Scholarship Offers up to ?48,000 per annum to meritorious students from economically weaker sections pursuing professional courses like B.Tech. ?7? **ONGC Scholarship** Offers up to ?48,000 per annum to meritorious students from economically weaker sections pursuing professional courses like B.Tech. ?10?VIT B.Tech Scholarships Provides up to 100% tuition fee waiver based on merit, need, or sports achievements.

Campus Life

3

Recently we had our Technical fest 'Technosis' which was held in November of 3 days, it was super amazing during the fest i got a chance to interact with seniors and amazing students. Making robotic stuffs and teaching us about how it make them. Our another fest is Cultural fest which will be held in February and it is of 7 days, in this fest we will see different types of cultures and their traditions of dance, comedy and many things. Therile is wholesome range of books in Library and in a vast amount making available for each and every student. Classrooms are quite simple. They don't have smart boards and proper bench facilities. They have a 2 big ground for sports one is for football and other is for cricket. Our college also provides a good range of clubs and societies teaching us about things that a student should learn whether it is for job or entrepreneurship it is helpful for both sides.

Admission

I choosed this college because I wanted to experience North East colleges Beauty and I was touched and proud of my decision, and this college has also a very good nirf ranking. The admission process for my college is first to qualify JEE Mains examination and then on the basis of your percentile you will be provided a rank and then through Jossa and csab process you will be alloted to your chosen colleges.

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is very good it is like 1:80 and teachers are very supportive and helpful in studies, if you are interested in their subjects they will even provide you personal space to teach. To approach professors we first have to contact our class representative and then book a time slot for their personal guidance. My physics mam Susmita Rabha, she is very kind and helpful, she is kinda strict but she is very Helpful, for some reasons I was unable to perform my lab experiment but she helped me a lot to clear it, I'm very grateful for having such a great teacher. Like there's no such faculties which I hate they all are good and very inspiring, they had a very good level of knowledge and experience of teaching us so they teach us very good. First we have our mid semester exams of 30 marks and then Minor exams of 20 marks and then last end semester exam of 50 marks which makes a overall of 100 marks. Exams are relative if you studied properly then it is very easy to clear and if you don't then it's like breaking a mountain.

Night Life

2

Our college has its own gym cafeterias library and open public area which opens from 10 to 10. For Library it is 10 to 5 but during exams it is from 9 to 10 which is quite helpful for students like me. They have different hostels for every year student and hostels are alloted on the basis of our Exam Rank and for seniors it is on the basis of their cgps. Campus timings for 1 st year students is till 9pm after that our hostel gates are closed. Night life is that much good there's no club and hangout places for us to enjoy night life.

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIT Guwahati are excellent especially in the tech field ,with high placement rates and strong average packages generally Rs 30 lakh per annum. Top companies regularly visit the campus. After completing the course if i do not get placed on campus which is hardly possible i'll look for other off campus placements.
