Every NIT college have some prons and cons,it depends on individuals jee mains rank and factors which influenced them.

I chose computer science and engineering branch as it is one of the most demanded branch of all time with possibly higher scope in future,in our campus we are taught in both subjective and practical mode,we learn from our professors in class,revise notes and preform it practically in CS lab,curriculm pace need to be little slow so that we can grasp easily(need plenty of time per semester).Exams and tests are moderate and can be preformed well if one go through all the related topics consistently and throughly.

Most of the service and product based companies are comming in our college for hiring third or fourth year students providing both paid and non payment internship opportunities to students.Our seniors are working on various big projects like web devlopment in google,cloud computing,machine learning,and coding hackathons.

Campus placement is the main reason i decided to join this college,last year the average package of CSE is close to 20 lakhs(keeping recession in mind),and overall package is 13-14 plakhs per annum with an outstanding median of 14 lakh per annum,almost all big product based companies and service based companies along with PSUs comes in our college for campus placements.More than 600+ job offers have been provided with an acceptable placement rate.

I have been given full remission in tution fees as i have shown my yearly income less than 1 lakh,i am only paying hostel and mess fees which is approximatiely 55 to 60 thousands per year.Those with annual income in between one and five lakh has to pay one third of the total tution fees,they are awarded with two third of fees remission.Those with annual income greater than eight lakhs has to pay a total sum of approx one lakh twenty five thousands per semester,however the mess and hostel fee is common for every one i.e every one has to pay a total of approx 55 to 60 thousands per year.For foreign students,the fee structure is entirely different,altough i don't know exactly but i think they have given full remission,with zero tution fees and even no mess or hostel charge,i also heared that they have been fed with government scheme under which they are paid approx eighteen thousand per month as stripened.

Being a big campus of size 625 acres all kind of clubs,and library and sports complex is available which focuses on extra curriculuar activities of students,NIT silchar's has a digital library which is one of the largest digital library in India.We have large number of clubs of respective branches like CSS,for CSE, E-cell for CSE,ECE and EE.Our seniors also organizes coding compitition to show individual's level in campus.

Hostel facility is very good with proper and regular cleaning.In our ist sem each room is accomodated by two students,room size is also big enough to prevent congested settlement,we have high speed internet connection(LAN service) available almost 24×7 hours.

I was aiming for NIT Silchar,IT branch but my rank was not sufficient enough to get into it,infact i was getting ECE at NIT Silchar but i prefferd branch over college and so i decided to join Nit Silchar CSE.Since NITS is a government college and requires to clear jee mains exam with exceptable rank to get into it.

All of our renowed faculty member are more often simmilar to our friends rather than teacher because of their friendly ,connecting and supportive behaviour.They have excellent knowledge in their respective domains and they have a long term experience of teaching.Some professor also occupied the top 2% scientist position across the globe which itself is a matter of proud for each individual member of NITS.Faculty to student ratio is also good,as one can expect instant response from any professor in any question or doubt during running classes.Altough all the faculty are best but i like mostly Shantanu sir and B Nath sir who teaches us maths,why because they provide us study material and teaches us complex maths problems,enabling us to tackle with good calculus problems.No personal professor whom i hate. Basically exam marks is divided into three broad divisions which comprises midsem for thirty marks in each subjects,twenty marks includes ten marks from attendence and ten marks from minor tests,remaining fifty marks is taken as end sem

During night time we love to do night walk with friends which refreshes our mind,we also have cafeteria to enhance our meal when we are.bored with regular hostel meals.Our class starts at 8:00 am in morning which ends at 5 pm,including a short lunch break from 12:00 to 1:00 at afternoon.Famous hangout places near our campus includes tea garden,Iskcon temple and mall.
