For the first year curriculum needs to be revised because in the. First year every branch subjects are thought which are not necessary . Students of civil is thought programming, electronics , electrical, which is not required for them . And most of the theory are not useful in real work and placements

I am in 1st sem so i don't have much idea about campanies but only few students get intern in 3rd year and to get intern , a stydent needs to prepare from 2nd year only. Now taking about project i have no idea about project as i am new to college and will surely get to know more about projects

Students get placemnt from the 7th semesters. The placement percentage is good is with arou d 80-85% . And the average pakage is 13.6 lpa 2023 data. The cse average pakeage is 18lpa and ece average package is 14lpa electronics average package is 14lpa and mechanical average pakage is 10lpa The highest mechanical pakge is 22lpa and for cse it is 52 lpa. At the time of admission i had to pay total 128000. I gave 80000 during jossa counselling and 25000 fas caution money for hosfel and instituttion , this 25500 include 5000 for counseling fees and 22500 mesh fees . This is for the first semester . Now , for the 1st semester tuition fees is 62500 , and other fees include for gymkhana, exam , electricity, medical,TV , which count for 11000 So for 1st semester my i total paid 128000 And for the 2nd semester, i have to pay 95000

There are two major fest of our college 1st is technosis in November and 2nd is incandescent in February The books are easily available in our library. You can get it by showing the library card . Classroom is decent and bech is also good Taking about extra cirricular activities , there are many clubs which are really good in learnjnv and following passion lkke ML club, coding club, GDG club ,NCC,NSS etc.

Hostel is good orher than washrooms which needs to be repaired . And room is okay Meal quality is good on few days but really bad on many days . The mess manger doesnot give green vegetables and say it is very costly and give excuse like this Overall they are not good in mess and i think it is corrupt . We pay good amount for our mess fees but doesn't get the type of food we should get

I applied for calcutta university and jadavpur university with 2500 rank in wbjee with other state unreserved category and could not get seat in it. I got NIT SILCHAR mechanical engineering through state quota which was the best college i could get with my rank of JEE mains . The admission process of my college is through jee . State quota is quite good for NIT SILCHAR.

I don't know about the faculty to student ratio but i expect it is at the desired level in our college. Faculty are mostly busy and when they are available they are helpful . BEE faculty is very good . His good name is Eswar Raju . HS faculty somalaya is also very much helpfult o students. Maths teachers were also very good in teaching Mechanics and physics sir were lacking in reaching out their teaching to students. There are 5 written theory exam and 3 lab exam which enclude electrical , physical and EDG lab for the 1st semester. Some student do fail in class and get back in subject. The competition is good here and exams are not easy to pass and it required dedicated efforts to score good marks and even with those marks one hardly hits 9 cgpa

Many equipment of gym is not working and it is very far away from hostel so many feel lazy to go to gym where equipment are also not working. Library closed by 5 pm . The hostel in timing is 8:30 pm but many students go after that also. And at night around 2pm many students go out of campas for eating puri . Gymkhana park and FPS are famous hangout places of NIT Silchar
