NIT Agartala Experience

I would rate the ECE curriculum at NIT Agartala as 7/10 in terms of relevalance and comprehensiveness. Subjects like Analog Electronics , Digital Circuits, and Signal Processing provide strong foundation in both hardware and software concepts.

NIT Agartala offers a wide range of internship opportunities faciliated by its Training and Placement Cell (T&P) and acadmeic departments . These interships are essential for bridging gaps between theoretical knowledge and industry projects. Various IT companies offer SDE internship on-campus.

Students become elgible for internships straight from the 5th semester(3rd year) and for campus placement from 7th semester(4th Year). Companies typically look for acadmeic consistency, skills in technical domains Companies like Texas , Qualcomm , Samsung , TCS , Infosys ,MIcrosoft , Google , Cisco , Deloitte , ONGC , NTPC , HPCL , etc visits the campus for placements. Placement percentage for ECE is (85%)approx with an average package of 9-10 LPA.

Year 1 semster wise fee Tuition Fee : 62,000 Caution Fee : 10,000 Admission Fee : 2,500 Development Fee : 5,000 Registration Fee : 1,000 Lab Fee : 5,000 Other charges : 2,000 Total ~ 90,000 (approx) 1. SC/ST - Tuition fee is waived off completely , They Have to pay the remaining charges. 2. EWS/OBC - 2/3rd of the fee will be waived off if income is between 1,00,000 - 5,00,000 Tuition fee will be waived off completely if income is below 1,00,000 else have to pay the full amount Various scholarships are available based on income and category.

The lush green campus is very relaxing with various fests (Moksha and Aayam), and different clubs(Anarc, NLC, Aaveg, WeCan) creating a balanced environment for the students for both learning and personal growth. The central library is well-equipped with the required books, journals, novels, and gate books. There are various sport facilities available at NIT Agartala including cricket, football, kabaddi, and badminton.

NIT Agartala offers Hostel and Mess facilties , both lacking basic facilities. In 1st and 2nd Year , 2 seaters room are alloted , after that single seater room is allotted with bed , table , chair ,fan and LED . Their are various mess for boys and a single mess for girl . Mess food isn't that good , we often have to look cafeteria . Hostel Registration is done during admission . Several PGs are available at Agartala ranging between 6,000-8,000 per semester

I choose NIT Agartala for my interest in the field of Electronics. I was getting lower branches in colleges like NIT Trichy, Warangal too but I left them due to my personal interest. I got confirmation from other colleges like NIT Patna, NIT Silchar, NIT Jalandhar but wasn't getting ECE there. NIT Agartala admission process: Students have to clear the JEE Mains examination. For CSE cutoff is generally 15,000-22,000 for general category students, ECE cutoff is around 20,000-30,000, cutoff decreases as we go to the lower branches.

As I am from ECE department , the faculty to student ratio is approximately 1:15. Most faculty members re accessible during office hours. They encourage students to ask questions and are supportive to ask questions. While some faculties are great , some lack the ability to discuss their specialization . Their are mainly two exams - mid-sem and end-sem covering 20% and 50% marks . Rest 30% are based on attendance, quizzes ,class test , etc. Exams are moderatley difficult but focus on conceptual understanding.

Nightlife at NIT Agartala is relatively subdued, given it's peaceful and lush green campus . Institutes have GYM , cafeteria (at various places) , and a central library having aroung 1,00,000 books , Students often hangout at the cafeteria after their hectic schedule , also the campus itself offers some quiest spaces for studnets to unwind. Hostel timings for boys is 10:00 PM and for girls it is 7:00 PM . For hangout , stduents mostly go to Agartala (around 25km) .
