Course Curriculum Overview

5

I basically chosed this course as it is influential in my optional preparation of UPSC CSE . The curriculum includes disciplines like international relations, geo politics, contemporary world politics. These all disciplines give a understanding of the world and india. The only suggestion is going digital in the teaching methods. Exams are not difficult at all , they are simply and easy to pass.

Internships Opportunities

4

Companies and internship are offered for courses like b.com (h) . However, I'm not aware of such internship in my course. But i have seen regular camps for internship program in the college campus , however i never tried to gather information as I'm not interested in internships.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is 14310 per year for 3rd year of graduation. It is the total fees for everything including library , tution, admission ( excluding examination fees) .I'm not receiving any kind of scholarship.

Campus Life

4

The college hardly organises any festivals and fests. This is also one of the drawback of KMC. Books are available in quite large number in library including all subjects history, geography, news paper , magazines etc. Again there is lack of technological provisions in the classroom. Sports and extra curricular activities are being offered in the college including volleyball, basketball, table tennis , cricket etc.

Admission

I have given 1st preference to Hindu college with political science (hons) and the second preference was with Kirorimal College. However I was not able to qualify the cutoff of hindu college and got the admission in KMC. The reason for choosing this college is quite simple. I want to pursue my graduation from best college of India and with research i got to know about Hindu college and KMC. Hence , applied for both. For securing a seat in this college, you need to qualify CUET UG entrance exam. The eligibility is simple - Pass 12th class and clear the cut off for this college. I'm from Non creamy OBC and I got 771/800 in CUET UG for securing a seat in this college.

Faculty

4

I'm not accurately aware about the faculty to student ratio, however the relationship between students and faculty is quite good , they are down to earth and humble. There are some teachers which are quite rude in my department but I don't want to reveal their names. 2 semester are conducted in a year with approx 97-98% students clearing it . The course curriculum is quite relevant giving a holistic understanding of the western, indian and greek thoughts. Also includes political processes of india and the world.

Interview Experience

5

No , there were no such group discussion, interview or written test. One has to qualify the CUET UG and then the physical verification of documents took place. After that one gets admission into the Kirorimal College.

Night Life

5

There is a gym in the college campus for both boys and girls. Also there is one training teacher who guides everyone who goes there. College opens in the morning around 8 am and closes in the evening at 6pm . A number of hangout places are there like Hudson lane where a number of clubes , bars , pubs are located. Also there is spark mall and kamala nagar market where a number of show rooms are located.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
