What Students Say
Likes
- A little confusion actually as what is more beautiful the library or the auditorium as both are amazing.
- We have quite a few gardens and the flowers in those gardens are so pleasing to the eye like they literally make my mornings.
- No outsider even DU students can enter our college as I card is checked at the main gate and hence security therefore is top class.
Dislikes
- Some mebers of the administration staff don't behave well as sometimes they are quite rude.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose because I am interested in biological sciences and got admission through Cuet score based on marks in bio chem physics. Our course has way too many subjects and sometimes not proper lectures of those subjects are on time so instead of optional electives they should have given some other options. Otherwise there's not a single flaw in our course as it is more than I thought I will be studying in the first three semesters itself.
Internships Opportunities
Research professors of DU especially of our stream are the ones who offers us internships. How to do the research and what all elements are required and all is pursued during those internships. Only from second year we stand eligible for such internships as otherwise marketing and content writing companies offers us internships with a stipend of 5-10k.
Placement Experience
Hindu is among the oldest colleges of DU and therefore placements here are no mug. Disha which has named as our placements cell has made connections with top corporates and companies such as Deloitte and the big four and also Bain Capital and Boston Consulting Group comes to our campus. For our branch it's the college that help us connect and find the best job for ourselves.
Fees and Financial Aid
If I have to say about fees affordability then I don't think there's any college or university as affordable as DU. Hindu College which is second ranked college of DU charge us just 27410 rupees. For reserved students all the tuition fees is zero and they just have to pay the certain charges. Scholarships of various note are provided by Hindu College.
Campus Life
A college which is large and among one of the rare colleges of DU that also provides hoste facilities. We have multiple canteens and our library is a pure class. One don't have to search every row, the computers are there and you just type the book name that you want and it will show which shelf the book is available. So advancement is next level and natural greenery is no less too. Timely seminars are organized at our campus and also the fests are superb. Our annual cultural fest Mecca have seen students getting overjoyed as it invites celebrities in every year fests.
Admission
I just give CUET and since Hindu is the top ranked college that offers Zoology I looked nowhere else but the Hindu College. I just made it though in the final list as cut-off in my year was 570 and I had exactly 571. Online centralised form and then one has to go the centre for entrance exam. The result is out and after that we can start applying. So this is how DU colleges admission process works and exactly how I told for admissions here.
Faculty
Looking back at all that has happened in the first three semesters that I have spent here, all I would say is all our faculties are quite gentle. So if I have to get down and rate my faculties, I will rate Mahi madam as the best as she is a cult figure among all the faculties that exists in the Hindu College.
Night Life
Hostel is there and it has an in time of 9 pm. Gym is also inside the campus and Anytime Fitness which is one of the finest gyms is also there near the college. We don't have much occassions when we can stay at the college till late night but on those days we have our outings at 2 best cafes in Sambookas Cafe and The Hudson Cafe as they both are opened till 12.30 at night.
