Remarks

Kirori Mal College, Delhi University, the name in itself speaks a lot. The significance of name and it's glory across the globe makes it a premeier temple of learning and development. The diversities at campus can also teach you a lot.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum of Delhi University is a bit easy , maybe just to accommodate this huge diversity and maintain it's Central structure. The exam structure throughout graduation is of 6 semesters wherein for every subject you have 25 marks for internal assessment and 75 marks for external assessment.

Placement Experience

4.5

In regards to the Job opportunity and placements, every college at Delhi University Campus have a renowned Placement Cell which assists every students in seeking jobs and internships. Like at Kirori Mal College, we have Avenues - Placement Cell which work in accordance with the college authorities and also work as a specificed society run by students. They collaborate with companies and offer us internships and placements at big knotch companies.

College Events

5

The events celebrated is the college are many. The grandest of all is the college fest which is held in the month of March , almost around the same time when the complete University have a fest session. RENIASSANCE - The Annual Culture Festival of Kirori Mal College is amongst the Top 10 cultural festival around colleges in India. Every year Rennaisanace caters DU with big performances onboard like this year we had DJ ZAEDEN, AKHIL, and MAADHYAM. Apart the college fest , as a college we have the Freshers Party , Graduation Night, Diwali Mela. Then different societies and departments keep conducting their events and Fests in various different forms throughout the year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I paid Rs. 9400 for the complete session. Which I guess would be feasible by almost every student across India. Also , for those students who couldn't afford this fee also , government have scholarships and fee waivers Scheme for them.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have one of my friend from Kashmir , who told me that he's studying in the college on 100% scholarship and also he receives around 50000 per semester for his expenses. So this scholarship is for helping students of Jammu and Kashmir to Integrate with rest of India. Then already the college being a government college asks for a minimal fee to be paid them also they offer a fee waiver scheme.

Campus Life

4.5

The college offers very good library facilities. The N.S Pradhan Library is fully Air-conditioned library which caters to the college students at it's best. The college has a separate Activity Centre area wherein field is there and facilities for various indoor games along with a well equipped gymanism is there. The college has various players of many games of national and international fame. For the extracurriculars the cultural societies like - Players ( Dramatics Society) , Sensation (Dance Society ) , KMC MUSOC ( Music Society), KMC Debating Society which develops professionalism amongst students and Society as a whole marks it's glory across India.

Alumni/Alumna

The Alumuni Base as I already wrote is one of strongest all across with big names like Amitabh Bachan, Satish Kaushik, KK,Naveen Patnaik, Raj Shekhar, Shashi Kapoor , and many more. The alumuis help the college in various ways , in most of the cases via funding for college Fests or new infrastructural projects

Admission

When you pass 12th grade and want to seek admission in the college, probably around the country every child aims once to apply for DU. So Delhi University applications comes out in the month of May which is getting delayed this year and then students apply paying a minimal fee of Rs.150 and then waits for the cutoffs to come to come onboard. Then around mid June comes floating DU Cutoffs and lakhs of students run college to college to seek admission via Cutoffs in their preffered college and course. This is how you seek admission in a Delhi University college.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of college is obviously par excellence. They are well educated and disciplined. They are big shots in their field as most of the professors in Delhi University would have written a book in their subject specifications.

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
