Course Curriculum Overview
It is good and is related to the oil and gas sector. Geophysical technology is a little-known branch in iit but it provides very good pay packages to students and is related to earth sciences. The exams are mostly theoretically based and is completely dependent on the prof.
Placement Experience
The placements and job opportunities are pretty good when compared to the other colleges and at this level, the pay packages are quite handsome. The big companies visit the campus for both internships and placements and provide offers to the candidates which are selected. The selection procedure is according to the company but most companies take exams then gd and then personal interviews.
College Events
The other activities are: Different groups such as magazines eg kshitij, geek gazette and other technical groups such as MDG, SDS, IMG and some cultural groups such as music, dance and other sections. also there is a culinary club for people aspiring to be chef. there are 2 annual festivals, Thomso which is the cultural festival while cognizance which is the technical festival
Fee Structure And Facilities
It is expensive nowadays as it is around 1.5 lakh per semester for general and obc category. The college provides free tuition fees for sc and st thus this causes the fee of the general to be very high as we are paying for their fees and still they consider them to be super-duper people getting all the things without giving effort.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are scholarships for students having less income if the family that js called mcm which is merit cum means. if you are in merit and is well off you cannot avail. the criteria for merit is very suttle that is obtaining above 6 CGPA which is very easy and it comes to just means so anybody having less family income that is below 5 lakh per annum can avail scholarship
Campus Life
The infrastructure and all the activities are too notch as expected in a high-level institution such as IIT. The campus is equipped with all the facilities which could be used for researchers or devices used for research work.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is strong however they ask for money to be an alumini which is maybe not correct as if a person is graduated from a college he is actually an alumini but to be distinguished you have to pay 2k rupees.
Admission
JEE qualifying and then counseling for a branch of your choice which will be affected by the rank in jee. The IIT jee is a standard exam conducted every year in mains and advanced parts. After the counseling, the branch is allowed and you have to report to the College.
