Remarks
I feel that the college & the university is mainly focused on academics and theoritical knownledge and less on providing practical knowledge to the students due to which the students find it difficult to deal with practical life problems.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is of 3 years, divided into 6 semisters, which means 2 semisters per year on half yearly basis. In each semester there are 5 papers of 100 marks each. Three of these are objective papers & two are subjective papers. The Course follows CBCS system & the exams are conducted & controlled by the Calcutta University.
Placement Experience
Yes, indeed the college provides internship, placements & job opportunities. Many renouned & reputed MNCs like Deloitte come to the college for campus placement and provide good packages. But the problem is that the no. of jobs are very less, only a few handful of students are selected, majority of the students don't get any placements which is a big problem.
College Events
There are many events celebrated in college campus every year like the college Freshers, quest, Saraswati puja, independence day, republic day, foundation day, etc. All the events are conducted by the Students Union of the college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is very feasible. It is a government college hence the fee is extremely less as compared to other renouned colleges. The admission fees of the college is only Rs850. And the total estimated for there years is around RS 6000, That means only RS 1000 per semisters
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes there are few number of scholarships offered by the college. But the worst thing is that the scholarships are offered only to the State Board students, which is very disappointing thing. I am a CBSE student so I couldn't opt for any of the scholarships.
Campus Life
There are many extracurricular activities held by Students Union for the students to participate. But I feel that outdoor sports like cricket, football is not really promoted which is common in most of the colleges in Kolkata which is also due to the lack of fields & grounds.
Hostel Facilities
There is no Hostel of the college. I live i a PG near the college. The college infrastructure I would say is somewhat ok if we compare it most of the colleges in the university. There is no college hostel, nor any big campus or any sports grounds.
Alumni/Alumna
I must say that the reponse I got from my seniors is way more than I expected, they are very friendly & helpful, they doesn't seem to be like seniors they are just like genuine friends. The alumni network is also decent.
Admission
At first I had to fill the admission form through the website of the college. Then the college announed the merit list in which I was selected. Then dates for document verification & admission we're given by the college & I went to the college got my documents verified, paid the admission fees took admission.
Faculty
The college faculty is pretty average. The scenario is quite similar to that you see in most of the government institutions. Some of staff are very rude, lazy & get irritated for no reason if you go and ask them something.
