Great to study in and live life to the fullest.the living in hostels teaches is great life skills,and we make life long friends in the four years we stay here together. The college life is tough and not for the weak.

The curriculum is spread over eight semesters out of which the seven semesters are to be spend in college and the last semester is a training on board ship. The curriculum is primarily composed of mechanical engineering with special focus given to marine topics.

The college placements is good with a record of 88% guaranteed placements. The companies that come here are the topmost in the field ranging from Mediterranean shipping company, fleet management, NYK, Chevron etc etc. The stipend varies from company to company ranging from 350$ to a whopping 1200$ per month.

As our college is the best Marine engineering college in the world as shown in Google our former name was DMET and we take pride in calling ourself dmetians. Our college celebrate many events such as tempest which is the largest Marine fest in South Asia. We also celebrate many other great like litoshpere, razzmatazz, chakravuyh.

Feasible as its a govt college. 2.25lakh per annum. It includes a tuition fees, mess charges, safety deposit, laundry fees, hostel charges, books and uniform charges. Though most of the students opt for a loan it's usually not very recommended.

The Imu gives great scholarship to rankers Rank. Scholarship 1. 1,00,000 2-30. 75,000 31-60. 50,000 Which helps the students to stay even more motivated throughout the year.

There's a swimming pool, a football field,cricket field, hockey ground, basketball court, volleyball court, table tennis rooms, and a fully equipped gymnasium for the cadets. For the academics we have maths lab, marine automation llab, fire fighting lab, electronics lab, computer lab, fluids lab, we also have a 850 seater auditorium.

Hostel is a compulsory in our college till 7semesters. The hostels for each year is separated and had good spacious rooms and comfortable living spaces, 24hrs cold water , no electricity problems, but the warden is just one.

Yes Alot ,in the field on merchant navy the senior help us out alot may it be getting placed or getting promotion. We have a network of seniors sitting in the topmost positions in merchant field may it be the incharge of merchant fleet of England or the GM of fleet management or head of the shipping company of India.

We have to go through and online entrance exam and then see the cut off the seats are 283 and above 60000 candidates give the combined exam. The college is great but very competitive to get into.there's the first huddle of embrace and then there's an counseling and then we come with our luggage to settle in the hostels.

The faculty is great and very experienced in the field and most of them are a passout of the college who have first hand experience onboard ship. They explain the topics very clearly and have indepth knowledge of the topics.
