Remarks
Our college is in a mode of rapid progression in the past 5 years. It is ranked as 9th among all the NITs in 2019.The placement scenerios has really improved, Thanks to the administration. Overall staying experience in the campus is really nice. There are a lot of greeneries and lakes which gives you calm and peaceful mind.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is well built and covers all the subjects that are needed to be studied to become an aspiring civil engineer. Course curriculum is in complete accordance with the MHRD guidelines.
Placement Experience
Our placement scenerio has become really good over the past few years. Specially in CSE and ECE branch, always 100 percent placement is there, with the packages ranging from 4 to 40 lpa. The average package for these branches are 8.5 lpa. The core branches like civil, mechanical, electrical has also good placement but average package is around 5 lpa. Yes college does provide internships. Stipend ranges from 5k to 35k.
College Events
Tecnoesis is the annual Techno-management fest organised in our college. Various competitions related to the engineering branches are organised where students get to expose their skills. Incandescence is the annual cultural fest where we enjoy a lot. Lot of other events like Posua, NITS MUN, annual sports meet etc happens. The list is too long
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is in accordance with MHRD fee structure. It is feasible. There is concession for reserved category students. Mess fee is around 15k for one semester. And semester fee for open category and income above 5 lpa is around 70k.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our college does not offer any scholarships or loan as it is a government college. But there is a scheme naming Ishan Uday scholarship where a student from northeastern states gets 7500 rs per month for his entire 4 year of course.
Campus Life
Labs are good. We get all the necessary equipments for our experiments, although we need some more. Cricket ground, football ground, basketball, volleyball courts are there. Indoor stadium is also there where table tennis, carrom, chess facilities are available
Hostel Facilities
Hostel infrastructure is excellent. The facilities are nice. Tv hall, playing room, reading room, everything is there. There is a canteen in every hostel where you can cover up your hunger.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes we have a common group of alumni and present student. There many alumnis post related things which are helpful. Alumnis also contribute to some of the events organised by the present students.
Admission
I appeared in JEE main exam which is the engineering entrance test in India. I got 32114 rank in 2016 exam. Then I got admission into NITS with this rank. There is 50% quota for home state students in every NIT
Faculty
Faculties are highly educated and experienced as well. There are a lot of senior faculties. Junior faculties have also joined in recent times. We like the teaching of some and dont like the teaching of some other, just like any other college.
