Course Curriculum Overview

5

I had always been fascinated by this course and I wanted to build my foundation in English Literature. We had Indian English Literature in the first semester that was so insigthful and knowledgeable. Indian Literature was my best subject. We had British literature 18th and 19th ce. Following up the next semester we had different topics and lieteraute history all around the globe including American literature. We also had to Readings from differnt authors and writers. Apart from it we had translations too. Overall it was knowledgeable, insightful and fascinating to know about Literature History and Modern English Literature too.

Internships Opportunities

5

The college had internship opportunity available of itself. You had to do a lot of research and write research appers on the genre or topic you select. There were ample f other options too available. so ou had to talk to you HOD and they coney the information to you accordingly and like this the things exceute. There were ample of options available for internship whoch help you learn so much.

Placement Experience

5

The placment cell of SVC is quite impressive and helpful. Not each college of DU has such helpful and valuable cell that keenly helps you with the placements. A number of students got placed during my tenure and that too with a valuable package. The avaerage package is around 4 to 8 LPA. Tier 1 Companies like Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, and more actively recruit students from Sri Venkateswara College. The placement procedure is well structured, providing students with solid base to build up their careers.

Fees and Financial Aid

When I enrolled at Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi back in 2020, my first year fee was around 14,000 INR. Today the admission fee has increased to around 18000 per year. The increase in the fee is gradual and reasonable. I found the tuition of the instute quite reasonable and afforable. The institute balances equity education with affordability. The university lies in the South Campus of the DU, and as per my opinion is the best among the south campus that manages quality education in budget as compared to other institutes. There were not any other expenses for me as a part of English Hons Course. I could not secure the hostel facility because I did not meet the eligibility criterion. But surely you can apply to to avail the hostel facility. There are certain regalutions including merit basis too. My friend did appreciate the hostel facility and the best part the facility being in budget. Living in Delhi, you must try and avail the hostel facility. The hostel fee was quite affordable and manageable.

Campus Life

5

This is the best part of college life. I really enjoyed my college life in SVC DU. We had so many fun and recreational activities. The most important and the special one was Nexus, an annual fest of SVC. We even have many other events, seminars and functions and activities. Next best part about SVC is its socities and clubs. I mysels was a part of many socities and reading club. You get to learn new things that help you grow both personally and professionally. I had holistic development of my personality in this college. From learning basics of academics to developing myself from a profession pov, this college helped me a lot. Next very important and very necessary(for PwD community), SVC DU has all the facilities and amenities needed for perso with Disability. This college has ramp tiles for blind person, infrastructure is compatible for wheelchair students. They even have a society named as Equal Opportunity Cell for the PwD students. This is the best college of South Campus that caters to the needs of physically challenged students. The college has even a room named as EOC room established for visually blind students which has recored lession and books, and also has books in braille text. Overall this college looks over the needs of its students and fulfills them. For me it is the best college of Delhi University.

Admission

My first and foremost priority was Sri Venkateswara College of Delhi University. I was quite impressed by the quality education, academics and the high skilled professors. Back when I took amission in 2020, we had cut offs of each institute. If you meet the cutoff you can directly apply to the college website directly and the Dean approves it. I could secure admission in Sri Venkateswara College in 2nd cut off list.

Faculty

5

I really liked the English Faculty. The Professors were high skilled, much knowledgeable and have a lot to wisdom and knowledgeable to provide to their students. I found my professors and HOD supportive and mentored me thorughout my college duration. The other facilities too were great and had always cooperated with the students. The library faculti is among the best. They help and guide you thoroughly. We had exams each semester so that makes 2 exams a year. Apart from them there were assigments given to us by professors with detailed information and guidance. The educational environment was friendly and cooperative. You can reach out to you professors anytime you want to seek their help.

Night Life

5

I did not get to enjoy much of the nightlife in the college campus since I could not avail the hostel facility. But from the students who were inhostel, I aways listened good words about the night life in college. They used to hang on together, create memories, dance and singing in the Rock Garden of the college. There were so many spots inside the college for recreational activities and gatherings. If you are a dog lover, you will get so many cute and friendly doggies here which you will love to spend time with.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
