Course Curriculum Overview
The institute offers 4 year Bachelor of Technology courses in disciplines viz Mechanical Engineering, Textile Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Civil Engineering. The course is designed by taking the reference of several NITs and other premier institutes.
Internships Opportunities
Well currently there is no such any internship program in our college. Students go outside from the college for internships and industrial exposure. Many of the students go to labs of national importance for their internships/industrial projects.
Placement Experience
The placement record of JNGEC is not up to that mark but still the departments like ECE and Textile have a great placement record.The students go for higher studies. some of the students are commissioned in army.
College Events
The main events are TWASK and Decibel.TWASK is a techno-cultural fest of the college. it is a 3 days fest. Decibel is mainly for the DJ night.Other days of national importance like Independence day, republic day, holi, diwali, teachers' day, shaheedi divas and many more are celebrated in the college campus.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure of our college is feasible. and moreover girls are exempted from tution fee.The fee per semester is 30k INR and for girls its around 15k INR.And there is special provision for the tution fee waver, those belonging to poor families.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are so many scholarships offered by the college like AICTE scholarships, UG scholarships, post matric and all. The loan facility is also available for the poor students who want to avail the same.
Campus Life
The labs are in well and good running conditions. For the sports the students have a mega ground in nearby polytechnic.The annual sports meet held in month of february/march.The students take part in other activities offered by NSS and NCC units Of college.
Hostel Facilities
To be true there is no hostel till date in JNGEC. Students live either in PGs or rented rooms.So let's talk about the PGs, The PGs over here are hygienic and in well conditions the average rent of PGs is 27k
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is not so strong but the students and some of the faculty members are trying their best to get connected to the alumni.For the same purpose an alumni meet held i the last year's edition of the TWASK.
Exam Structure
The exams held thrice in a semester, out of which 2 are periodical/sessionals/minors and final exams held along with the practical exams and vivi voce. the normalized score of two periodicals is submitted for the evaluation purpose.
Admission
The admission process to JNGEC Sundernagar, is done by HPTU to which it is affiliated. the admission process is done in phases like those scoring more than 75 in JEE, less than 75 in JEE, my JEE score was 106 so I easily got admission here.85% seats are for himachali bonafide candidates and rest 15% are all India quota The other way to get admission to colleges affiliated to HPTU is through HPCET.I have been appeared in HPCET also and scored 215/300 marks
Faculty
Let's start from the 1st year i.e. applied sciences and humanities department, the faculty of applied sciences is highly qualified all of them are having doctorate degree in their respective fields.The faculty members of core departments are commission qualified
