Remarks

Overall the college is good with learning and lots of activities to do and places to hang out in and around the campus. It has mixed crowd and provides an opportunity to interact with minds from all over India.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is vast and entails all the major topics one should know. It is updated every semester on the basis of changing needs of the education system and the prevailing economic conditions. The course allows students to know their interest well in a particular field of economics and it also gives a good overview of all the practical applications of economics.

Internships Opportunities

The college has a lot of internship opportunities throughout the year which are made available to the students through the placement cell of the college. Most of the internships do not have a specified stipend and depends on the actual performance but there are few providing up to 5000 per month.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement cell of the college is active throughout the year and provides job opportunities to students of third year. The various fields where students are recruited includes finance, marketing, market research, analyst, accounting, content writing and others. The average package is 4lpa. Most of the recruiters are well known companies including American Express, Inshorts, KPMG, EY and others.

College Events

4

The major event celebrated in the college is the 3-day fest in the month of March. It is a grand event with lots of fun and enjoyment. Apart from these the societies of the college keep conducting events and competitions in the college including quizzes, plays, poetry recitation, music, dancing, debates and others.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college is really feasible with fees ranging from 2500 to 12000 depending on the course and the category of students. The college accepts the fees in cash and demand draft at the Andhra Bank branch located inside the campus.

Fees and Financial Aid

I never availed any scholarship as such but I know that the college provides at least 5 scholarships for students with different criteria including financial ability, academic performance and others. The details of all the scholarships available is there on the college website and they can be easily availed by people who need them.

Campus Life

3.5

The college has mainly all the required labs and facilities. It has computer labs, several science labs, library, medical room, botanical garden and other facilities. The college is equipped with free Wi-Fi network available to all students. It has a several lawns for students to conduct extracurricular activities and learn beyond conventional classroom learning.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There are separate hostels for both girls and boys inside the campus with around 72 seats in each for all the three year students. The hostel has all the basic facilities and is safe and secure with 24 hours surveillance of security personnel.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network of the college is well developed with mostly all the alumni registered. The successful alumni are often to college for guest lectures and mentoring students. Every year college conducts an alumni meet for all the alumni to come and interact with each other and the faculty members.

Exam Structure

There are semester exams with CGPA system of marking. There is a total of 6 semester for a 3-yr programme. The examination pattern and marks distribution is mostly based on past year papers which are easily available in the college library.

Admission

The admission is based on the merit list generated by DU from time to time. After seeing that I qualify for admission in this college. I went to the college with all my documents and photos. The process was not cumbersome at all. There were students to guide through each and every step of the admission. Once the document verification is done which takes around 1-2 hours. The provisional admission is granted and on paying the admission fee on the same day the admission is complete. The whole process takes around 3-4 hours and not more.

Faculty

4.5

The economics faculty of the college is experienced and knowledgeable. They are quite efficient in their methods of classroom teaching. They make their best efforts to clarify all the doubts of the students in the classroom and ensure that the syllabus is covered well in time.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
