Enginnering life

I had really the keen interest in the computer Science from my school days,So i decided to pursue it ahead in my carrier. The course curriculum includes all the subjects which we had studied earlier also but in a advanced way. The major subjects werw programming languages like C programming, C++ , Java programming, Python and other subjects like computer network, Operating system, Web Development that had practical implications in the real world with a good salaried job . These all subjects help to get our desired job or company and be competitive in the real world.The course curriculum can be improve in a way that more attention would be given to one's skills that they have developed during the college and academics.The exams were not hard pretty much as all the topics and the syllabus is covered during the semester and exams were also happen in a suitable way and time.

The college provides internship opportunities to the students in different domain to the respective branches in a fields like cyber security, Machine learning, AI, cloud computing, Data administration and others but at a paid price maximum times. The college also tie up with some companies to provide students internship opportunities. The company i have worked with is Salesforce For the two month period as a role of developer. The company provided the training for around 1 month of the task that we have to done. We have to complete the different modules of the task that includes data verification, data administration, exception handling, error tolerance and others. After completing all the tasks and modules i get the internship certificate from Salesforce and the internship was free for the selected students.

The campus placement is not very much good nor very low. Moderately most students get placed from the campus placement as there is some mass hiring companies were also come during the campus drive but their package were really low arond 3 to 4 lpa. The students get eligible for the placements from the final year i.e from the 7th semester . Companies that visited during the placements were Accenture, Wissen ,Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Cognizant, Global Logic, Wipro , pwc ,De Shaw and others. De Shaw had the package of 56 Lpa and others have around 4 to 8 lpa. The percentage of students placed were arond 40 to 45% . My plans are still to have a decent package job in a reputed company.

The year wise fees i paid is around INR 165000 after the first year and in the first year it was approx 176000 including admission fee of around 15000.The registration fee was 1200. The other fee like development fee , sports fee, lab fees ,caution fee and bus fee are included already in the tution fee. The tution fee increases 3000 to 4000 per semester. My batchmate fees were higher for some students and lower than me for others depending upon the scholarship they get. For the Hill University there is a 25% fee concession for Uttarakhand students. And other scholarship according to the performance of a student in class 10 and 12 . Jee scores are also valid and other concession like defence, siblings or you have played any sport till nationals then there will be suitable amount of fee concession.The overall fee i had paid in my course was approx 7.5 lakh

The annual festival of the college include the Grafest that occurs every year during the month of November or December. And other technical fests are also occurred in every semester, Grafethon a 24 hour coding competition in which students participate in their team and build a project given to them . There are wide range of books available in the library along with the academic books that are helpful in academics and all the college students has accessibility to these books. In every classroom there is a facility of smart board for better understanding of the topics and there is also good facilities of sports and extra curricular activities in the campus. Indoor badminton court and tt tables , carrom , chess and fotmr outdoor volleyball court is there, basketball court, football ground in which students also can play cricket. Clubs like Sports clubs, Cultural club, event organizing club, Dance club and other clubs is there in the university for organising events and tournament of events.

I have not applied to any other colleges before this. It is the first college i have applied and i got the admission. I choose this college as it is in my residence area and the college has pretty much good name for its academics and placements and also there is a bus facilities provided by the college around the whole city. The admission process for the college is really simple, it is based on the performance of the student in the class X and class XII. The course which the student want to opt is his/her choice and the scholarship is also decided by the above performance. There is no admission test or GD for the admission.

The faculty members are really nice in respect to the teaching methods, their behaviour towards students . They try to teach the topic to students in the best way and always be eager to solve the doubts of students in an easy way.The faculty to student ratio is around 1:50 .I like all the faculties i have learned during my college and i really admire them . Since i am the engineering student i don't know anything about the faculties of other departments. Talking about the exams there were two exams mainly mid semester exam after the 2 month of Starting semester that includes theory and practical subjects which is of around 50 marks each. And then end semester exams after sometime. All the syllabus of the theory papers and practical subjects were covered already before the exams.

Being a engineering student we really had a very less time for hang outs or some other activities to do in comparison to students of other departments, yet whenever I got the free time I really love to play badminton in the college with the friends.Not only me but most students have a sports activities after the day of classes. It is really good to have maximum number of sports facilities for the students. There were no gym in the college campus but it is available very near to the college.The cafeteria and library were closed off at the final time of the college closed that is around 6 pm daily. The hostel is closed by near 9 pm i.e no student can get out from their hostel after that and the campus in timings were around 7 am morning. Some famous hangout places were Buddha temple near the college around 2 km of the college and a barren river with a forest near the college for travel or hangout.
