Likes
- We have students here from many countries, so studying with NRI alongside is a different experience altogether.
- We have very friendly seniors who have given all their support to juniors and are probably the best when we want to seek some help.
- Infrastructure is so beautiful like it ain't the biggest campus but still one of the most organised infrastructure one will see.
Dislikes
- Students here are not that serious as missing classes don't have serious implications here.
Course Curriculum Overview
Well because I did amazingly well in the entrance that university conducts for admission, i decided to take up CSE. We were provided an amazing counselling and we were taught all the benefits of doing all forms of engineering. CSE out of all was the most enticing one and hence I took up this course.
Placement Experience
My plan is simple that I will do my best to get placed in a top IT company which GEU students in general do get placed at. Adobe, Microsoft and likewise all the biggest IT names operational get placements. Highest placements at GEU is around 94 lakhs and getting placed at 50 LPA or such dream packages from here is not a deal one can miss on if they have it in them.
Fees and Financial Aid
GEU Dehradun is among the costliest university in India. The fees per year is 500000 and it is quote high. However if I look at the ROI, it is totally justified as what an amazing placements cell do they have. So, even though I may end up paying 20 lakhs and plus the hostel fees, i would still can get that money back in a couple of years.
Campus Life
GRAFEST is our annual fest and besides that Rangoli Competition during Diwali, Ganesh Murthi design during Ganesh Chaturthi and all are celebrated here. We have a football ground with football nets and an indoor sports arena. Our labs are so good and there's an entire building or rather a campus for technical classes. We have a tunnel inside the campus to move from main campus to that campus.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels is inside the campus and off campus as well. However, off campus hostel like the Bose Hostel where is stay is just 200m from the campus and therefore 5mins walk and I am at my college campus. Hostel food is a bit of concern otherwise everything is sorted at hostel too.
Admission
GEU has its own entrance and they also accept state entrance scores and also the JEE main scores too. So, it was lovely that admission process was such that the same day one can confirm their admissions here. It can't be bigger and better than this.
Faculty
Well for CSE you don't need mature faculties but modern faculties and this is where GEU jas nailed it. So kudos and a lot of thanks to GEU for getting us the most modern faculties. I love all my faculties even though I have just a year passed here but all my faculties are just more than great. Jasprit Rana is undoubtedly my favourite faculty out of all.
Night Life
Rasta Cafe, Pizza Cafe, Soham Momos and likewise Clement Town area has everything around it. A 24/7 shop is also opened now at the entrance of Clement Town. Hostel timings are strict as by 8 pm we have to be inside the hostel premises and one needs to take permission if they want to spend a night off the hostel campus.
