Likes
- Our underground canteen is amazing as I am an outsider and I have never stepped out of campus for meals as I have always had it in the canteen itself.
- There are so many affordable PGs and hostels around the college that one don't have to compulsarily stay at University hostels.
- The entire area clement town is full of students and therefore we get an opportunity to live among the young crowd.
Dislikes
- Campus is very small and apart from a basketball court, we don't have any sports facilities.
Course Curriculum Overview
Well, for engineering CSE is the best branch as most jobs and most top jobs are offered by them only. This was the reason for me getting into CSE as timings of exams are good they never clash with GEU. I don't know why but they have done it this way. So, question paper bank of theirs is what helps us and makes it easier for us otherwise.
Internships Opportunities
From DRDO to ISRO, we have many companies of government and private sector coming and offering internships in cities like Ahmedabad and Bangalore. A healthy stipend is offered along with residential facilities too.
Placement Experience
All the companies that comes to GEU comes to GEHU as we have a combined placement activity. However, placements cell are different for both the colleges but still companies are same like the TCS, Adobe and HCL among others. Our average package for CSE students is at 7 LPA a year.
Fees and Financial Aid
GEHU Dehradun is like a top engineering college and is a part of illustrious Graphic Era group. GEHU is smaller in comparison with its parents college GEU and is more for students from Uttarakhand. Students from Uttarakhand gets discount in fees and also our fees is lesser than GEU. While GEU charges 5 lakhs. Year our fees is just 3.5 lakhs a year.
Campus Life
Our campus is small like too congested but our seminar hall is bigger than that of GEU. We have a basketball court and a small field of play. Our two buildings are great and law dicision has recently been seperated from the main campus. We have many extra curricular things at the campus like a sports day and sports like Tug of War and Kabaddi are played.
Admission
I applied for our parent college GEU and i had admission there too. However, fees was a huge difference and therefore I chose GEHU at fees here is indeed affordable. In all it would have made the difference of 6 to 7 lakhs. So therefore I chose this college as entrance test was the same for both the colleges.
Faculty
GEHU faculties are probably not as good as GEU as like students faculties too have a quota and therefore most faculties are also from Uttarakhand. However, all are competent enough as none of them hired here can be less competent. So their competency has made students in whole competent here and miss Malvika Bisht is my favourite faculties of all.
Night Life
Close to our campus are PGs and some shops. A 24*7 shop and then a dominos and many sweet shops. Clement Town Police station is also nearby and therefore the entire area is quite secured. It's a lovely part living here as i hardly miss home in this vicinity.
