Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum, it's structure is really good. It prepares student for outside world, a job ready bachelor. The course have 4 subjects 1. Grammar, 2. Phonetics 3. Communication skills 4. French culture. Except phonetics other three are core subjects, you have to maintain atleast 3 CGPA in core to get registration for next semester. As mentioned, the subjects structure brings very comprehensive learning for a student, prepares him/her for grammatical based questions papers as well as real life communication. Basically the semester ends in 5-6 months so there are exams every 40-45 days.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are internships but I'm not completely aware about them because again the frequency is too low, there is plenty of scholarships in Japanese and Chinese language. For French there are mostly Financial companies which looks for the students. The main work is interpretation or translation.

Placement Experience

4

There are campus placement but very less in frequency. The placements for a language course depends on market demand that fluctuates very often for French language. There is absolute placements for Japanese and Chinese language while Korean and French is in between. Well students getting placed after degree is not more than 40-50% but 100% students get work through freelancing. You can do work on freelancer, tourist guide or choose the ultimate path - do your masters, PhD and become a professor, this is the ultimate placement and nowadays private schools teach another language to student, so graduates have plenty of opportunities in teaching. I will teach French in some college or Private school -pay scale is good for that ranging from 45000-70000.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fee for the BA Hons course is 268 rupees. And then there is Hostel fee around 1160 per semester and monthly mess fee that costs around 3400-3800 rupees per month. The tution is exempted for PH students. There are scholarships, they call it MCM- 2000 per month for the students whose family income is less than 150000 and 5000 for PH students .

Campus Life

5

The campus life is too good, there is a lot to explore in university. There are total of 8500 students from all courses so you have a lot people to hangout with , and the students are very approachable. There are a lot fests whole year and political events.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel's infrastructure is excellent. You'll have beds, table, chair and a good roommate. Most of the hostel's have personal balcony in rooms. The surrounding of hostels is green - you'll feel the fresh air. The mess facilities is excellent, the taste and quality they provide justifies the mess bill. There is Hostel for everyone

Admission

I applied in Delhi University for Bachelor of Management studies got Aryabhatta college as it was mistakenly my first preference, I had enough marks to get admission into a better college compared to Aryabhatta college for BMS, So I left that. Than I applied in Jawaharlal Nehru University for BA Hons French as it seemed very interesting course. And compared to Aryabhatta college, JNU was very cheap, had hostel and very other facilities like 24*7 library, college life. The fee for Aryabhatta college was 27000 I guess and 268 for JNU. I aplied in these two universities only , luckily scored good so I didn't have to wait for second list. The admission for JNU was also very smooth, You have to fill the application form online after cuet result(Generally 85-90% is safe score), it cost around 250 rupees, then after result , you have to visit university with your documents like 10th,12th marksheet, Aadhar card, migration certificate, character certificate and within one day you will get your admission process done. You'll be allocated with your hostel and ID card, library slip then and there.

Faculty

4

The class size is around 45 students and there are 4 teachers for one batch including 1 PhD scholar. so the faculty to student ratio is good. Faculty seems very intuitive to teach. There are 2 sessionals and one end semester exam and you have to pass in one sessional to attend End semester exams. Marking is grade based and exams toughness varies from medium to high level actually it depends on how much you learnt.

Interview Experience

4

No, there was no interview or group discussion for the admission. The cuet score of General test and English is all you need to get admission in the language courses of Jawaharlal Nehru University. Cutoffs varies for languages, highest cutoff is always for French.

Night Life

5

The JNU have very elegant night life. There is a lot of things to explore in campus in night time only for ex all the restaurants are open in night time only. Mess timings are 8-9:30AM for breakfast, 12:30-2:00 PM for lunch, 7:30-9:00 PM for Dinner. The campus is very safe for girls as well as boys. Students enjoy with their groups and mind their Business.

Other Applied Colleges

Aryabhatta College | Bachelor of Management Studies [BMS]

It was a preference mistake, wanted to join saheed sukhdev college. I had enough marks to join that but couldn't due to preference

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
