Course Curriculum Overview

4

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Internships Opportunities

3

i have personally not taken any internship from college yet but we do have placement cell in our college with offers all different types of internships and placements though college which starts Rs 1500 per months and goes higher depending on persons skills

Fees and Financial Aid

Ba(hons) economics in maitreyi college,du will cost our Rs.13,000-16,000. in my first year i paid around Rs.12500 and during second year fees rose to Rs.13500, most of the fee is divided for development student welfare funds, some is kept for tution fees, development fees is included in the fee structure, there is no additional charges as such. Although every one has to pay to same amout of fee whether genral or SC/ST. There is student welfare fund and scholarship for the student of low economical background. There is no major difference in fee structure for BA (H),Bcom (H), BA prog as such , fee stays between Rs.13000-16000 but the science courses usually have a higher fee and their major segment is lab fee, their avg fee is between Rs20000-25000.

Campus Life

4

maitreyi college's annual fest rhapsody which is usually held between feb-march its a 2 day event which is organised by student union and different societies of college, singers like astha gill has performed there are different festive based fests are also held around the diwali time the library has all different sorts of books and journals which are required by students and if in case not available then we can check in central library of du all the classroom are equiped with boards and projecters for better understanding some sports related events are also held in campus throughout the year

Admission

my first perfence was delhi unviersity and i got maitreyi college in first round of csas portal i was definitely happy with maitreyi college i didnt go any futher upgradation i didnt get rejected from any college as my cuet score was good so i knew i would land in delhi university the process for delhi university is through giving cuet exam with easy and multiple choice based most preferred course in du is BCOM(H) BCOM P and after that economic hons pol science hons etc

Faculty

4

we have a class of around 48 kids, out of which usual strength is about 25+ to which one teacher is alloted, we have total 3 DSE subjects, 1 GE, 1VAC,1SEC,1AEC, facultites are very helpful and classes are held on given time and date, all the inqury are also heard by facultites and soloved. All the facultites are changed with semester. i dont really have any favourite but do dislike some science teachers who often talk to us very rudely. there are 2 semester exams in one years, internal exams are taken regularly, exam level is often difficult, about3-4 students do get re exam.

Night Life

3

sadly there is no inght life in college as it closes at 6 30, also there is no gym facilities are available, caferteria is also not very good its below average, public area are clean and accessble to all yes there are hostel available but since i dont live in hostels i dont really know much the campus timing are from 8 30 in the morning to 5 30 in evening sometimes till 6 30 also depending upon classes. near our college we have satya and they have all different types of cafes and munching places which are quite budget friendly but area might not be very safe druing late night alone

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
