Course Curriculum Overview
I like the areas of work related to chemical Engineering so chose this course. Internships and labs help with real life aspects. Exams are difficult but with good preparation we can crack the end sem exams
Internships Opportunities
Internships are available in government and private companies like ongc bpcl fact kmml Etc. last year of btech is for internships so we get industrial exposure and we are made to do projects which gives us an idea about the working environments.
Placement Experience
Placements are relatively low but it is growing yearly 3..4 companies visit every year for chemical Engineering with average package 3 to 8 lakhs per annum and 40 Percent students get placed remaining opt for higher studies or go abroad
Fees and Financial Aid
Nearly 10000rs per year as fees and additional 2500 for exam registration and other fees. When availed any scholarships it could be reduced to nill or a small amount. Scholarship can be found through nsp portal and egrants scholarship for reserved categories is popular
Campus Life
Various events are held here like tech fests freshers day job fairs etc. and many public attractions like beaches parks restaurant are available nearby. We have NSS ISTE IEEE providing extra activities and helping to enhance skills
Hostel Facilities
There is no hostel provided by college for boys but ladies hostel is available. So we take admission nearby and plenty of hostels are available around the college and also people rent out houses with classmates. Good food and facilities are available.
Admission
I applied for GEC Thrissur but due to low rank in keam exam I didn't make it there. But this college is among the top colleges in Kerala for chemical Engineering. A good rank in Keam exam can get you a spot in GEC Kozhikode.
Faculty
Faculties are available there is no shortage they are friendly and reachable good mannered and keep a good relationship with students. Each semester has 4 exams 2 internal exams lab exam and end semester exams most students pass almost 75percent. A moderate level difficulty.
Interview Experience
No there was nothing like but we wrote the entrance exam and was given an orientation class about the course. We needed good marks and rank to get into the college and pass the exams. We went for crash course and attended keam exam
Night Life
At night college is closed except for any events. But the city is vibrants with all sorts of activities like fooding beaches sweetmeat street parks etc. The locality is pretty safe to get out at night and there are people and cafes operating at night.
