Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is strenuous and full of learning and gaining skillsets. The courses are designed to get them ready to work in the industry with high level of efficacy. The teachers are very supportive and cheerful.

Internships Opportunities

Internships are provided by the institute itself in different renowned companies like Dr. Reddy's, Cipla, Serum Institute of India, ICMRs, CSIRs, IISc. Generally the students get placed from their internship companies itself.

Placement Experience

The placements are good in NIPER Kolkata. Most of my batchmates got placed in several companies. The average packages differ between different departments. But mostly they are between 4.5 to 8 LPA. The institute also offers internships in different reputed companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

One of The best Pharmacy education college in the India. The new campus of NIPER Kolkata is vibrant and dedicated to serve the nation. The Centre of Excellence (CoE) in The Continuous Manufacturing and The Flow Chemistry plays a pivotal role in industry academia collaborations. It is a premium institute like IITs, IIMs, IISC.

Campus Life

Campus Life in NIPER Kolkata good. The hostel is run by the students only. We get the delicious foods. The menu changes every month according to the students choices. There is an annual sports event called SPECTRA. The college foundation day is also celebrated in the institute.

Admission

It is one of the best institute in India and they have all the required facilities available for the students to dive into the field of pharmaceutical research and innovation. The costly state of the art facilities are the key things here.

Faculty

Student to faculty ratio is 1:7 which is great. The professors are pioneers in their respective fields and India's brightest minds. They have postdoctoral research experiences from USA, Japan, Malaysia, ireland and so on.

Interview Experience

To get into NIPERs you have to crack GPAT exam which is a tough exam to crack. Then you also have to crack NIPERJEE exam to get into the NIPERs. Overall the selection procedure is tough and pharmacy students work day and night to get into NIPERs.

Night Life

Nightlife in Kolkata that doesn't need any justification for validation. We're in the City of Joy! Where the joy starts from evening itself. You will get all kinds of malls, cinema halls, parks, stores here. The best ambience amongst all other NIPERs.

Placement Experience:

Actually this is a general degree University , so I must mention that placement facalities are not so good. But yes , Job Fair is organised in University by some external agencies which offer jobs varying 2-2.5 lakhs per annum . But in the university most of the students do not accept that jobs. Half of the students are more interested on the higher studies. So ahet completing the fourth semester they prepare for PhD. And the another half are preparing for central government sponsored exams like CGL, CHSL, RRB, SBI , IBPS, LIC etc. University has a significant number of students who have qualified for Government Competitive exams.

Actually Some of the Local Companies & Private banks Offer placements which are averagely worth 250000/-. Some of the Students appear for it , but the Number is Very less. Actually In Present Circumstances , Most students wants a stable Government, Especially Central Gov job . So they Prepare for exams like SSC , SBI , IBPS, LIC , RRB etc.

Niper Kolkata: from starting to end

Placement Experience:

2nd year students are eligible for the campus placement. Sai, Hetero, mendine, dr. Reddys etc companies visities for the campus placement. Offers ranges from 5-12 lpa. 60% students gets placed, 10% goes for higher studies and others get job off campus in my department. Other departments has 100% placement. My plans are pHd from Niper as it provides vast knowledge and instrumental exposure.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My decision to choose this course depended on the fact that this course provides you with the opportunity to get various jobs in the industries with a high lpa. But this college does not help much in that aspect. All I had to do was myself. It is my humble opinion that the institution should improve its guidance in the area of its teaching methods. The exams were twice a year and were quite difficult on their own.

A Nurturing Place to Learn and Thrive

From the 2nd last semester, that is the final year, students become eligible for campus placements. Last year, two of our seniors got placed at Reborn Child Development Centre (Durgapur and Asansol) with an average package of Rs 200,000. This year, three students of our batch, including me, got an internship for three months at Reborn through an in-person interview.

Placement Experience:

1. Students generally get eligible for campus placements from the 3rd semester of the M.Sc. course. 2. Deperments like Biotechnology,Botany,Zoology have placement support. 3. Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Life in a government college

See i didn't applied for other colleges since i qualified both NIPER JEE and GPAT exam. For NIPER eligibility we need to crack both NIPER AND GPAT EXAM after bpharm. The cut off for gpat for general category is 250 , OBS is 200, SC is 140 and ST category is 120 out of 500 marks . Niper jee is of 100 marks with 200 questions. I firstly applied for kolkata branch and then for guwahati one, i luckily got selected to kolkata which is okay by me. It was like a fream come true. No i definitely did not get any rejection but infact i got selected which was like achieving a milestone. The admission process was as usual for us to check in submit our documents and then pay the fee. Cut off varies from year to year , so we cannot specify about it exactly.
