Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum for economics is great but all the other subjects of nep like ge , sec , vac and aec are useless. There is no need for these subjects and its a burden which can decrease your cgpa. So I would suggest these additional subjects should be removed from the curriculum and only the core subjects should be there with a language or technological subject.

Internships Opportunities

4

Many companies come for internships and placements like delloite, McKinsey, De shaw . And offer paid and non paid internships to students of mainly commerce and maths background. The paid internship ranges from 5000 to 15000. But by doing internships you will surely miss your classes for which college administration will give you attendance of internship is offered by the college allies.

Placement Experience

4

Every course does not offer placements. Only the economics, maths and science related courses offer placements. The highest placement was of 21 lakh p/anum in my course. In the last semester which is 6th semester students become elegible for placement. 80 percent of students gets placed and if not they try off campus.

Fees and Financial Aid

Hi this is Ayham Siddiqui a student of ba program economics + political science at Ramjas College enrolled in the year 2024. It is a 3 years course having a fee of 15343 rs per year. The fees increased approx 1000 rs this year for the new students and remained same for the old ones. The college provides scholarship to the less privileged section of students and huge discount to the pwd students. Pwd students have a fees of 150 rs only. The scholarship varies for the students ranging from 20 to 80 percent. My course is of 3 years but if I may choose i can extend a year and make it a 4 years ba economics hons with Majoring in economics. There is a hostel fees of 48500 per year but there is a very less chance of admission in the hostel due to reservations. The reservations are based on category and distance of hometown. Also giving discounts in hostel fees to the less privileged. So the fees of my 4 years course will be 15343*4 = 61372 rs. And if I would have taken hostel then it would be 48500 * 4 = 194000. The hostel fees also increases per year for new students with approx 2000 rs increment. But at the end I want to state that the course that my college is offering being a government college is very affordable and in future the expected return will be much more than i think when I will get a placement. This is a college which gives opportunity to every section of the society..

Campus Life

5

Campus Life is what made my join this college. The annual fest mosaic is a dream of students to enjoy, watching there favourite artists performing. The library is brilliant, can get any book of need. The classrooms are huge enough for approx 100 students. There are many social groups inside college and student portals for the interest of students.

Admission

This college was my first priority according to my score in cuet. I applied for many other colleges in du but the ramjas College was a very famous college in North campus which provides you a vibe of North campus and the gentry which come to this college is well mannered and behaved. I applied for kirorimal college also but find ramjas better than kirorimal in terms of faculty, course, facilities and environment. The cutoff of ramjas College is also higher than kmc. This was also a reason of me joining this college.

Faculty

5

My course faculty is Great. They take regular classes and economics course of Ramjas college is famous for having a great faculty. My major teacher is mr. MAYANK . He never missed a class in the entire semester and encourages us to take regular classes which he makes very interesting. The relationship he shares with students is great and he is very approachable and kind with the students. There are 2 internal tests for every core subject and an end semester exam is taken with submission of assignments and project presentations. The exams are easy for the students who have already studied but tough for the students who have not studied. Generally 2 to 3 students gets a back in 1 or 2 subjects. But can clear them in the next semester.

Night Life

4

There is a vibe in the north campus. All the colleges are next to each other. We have friends with other college students with whom we hang out at many spots like kamla nagar market, Sudama tea stall and many other places. Hostel students timings are not flexible. Can't go outside after 8pm for security reasons. This is a demerit.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
