Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is relevant but could include more giving of notes, assignments and frequent tests to check how ready we are for exams. However, the syllabus is being completed on time which gives us ample time to study for our semesters. I chose this curriculum since it gives me a really good scope in Economics which is a subject I am passionate about. The difficulty level of tests and assignments is moderate. The curriculum could be better in terms of how well we are prepared for real world applications, though. Moreover, I believe that the teachers should be interacting with us even more to ensure this.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees that I have paid for this year was Rs. 16098. Most of my batchmates had the same fees which is what I know of. There is a National Scholarship Portal that is available for students to claim after they submit an application at the portal. It is generally for the categories like SC, ST and other minorities but is also provided for highly meritorious students in college as well as through single girl child quota. There is also another scholarship programme I am aware of which is Reliance Foundation Scholarship. I am currently not a part of any scholarship and am paying full fees of 16098. The other extra charges that was required was for CUET registration and Delhi University application since Ramjas College comes under Delhi University. The CUET registration fees summed up to be around Rs.1800 (5 subjects) and the DU application fees was Rs.250 for UR category.

Campus Life

5

The campus life is extremely engaging here in Ramjas College. In sports, we have a sports complex which includes a basketball court, a badminton court, a very spacious ground that can be used for playing football and cricket, a gym for both boys and girls, facilities for table tennis, volleyball, shooting and much more. Extra curriculars are also taken seriously here and I can prove that since I recently became a member of both wings (Classical and Western Acapella) of the music society of Ramjas which is Backbeat. The practices are regular and don't hinder classes that much either. There is also a Dance society for both indian and western styles and a Fashion society as well. There is a Quizzing Society, Placement Cell, Consulting Society, TedX, Enactus and much more. All these are very active along with organisations like NSS and NCC. Fests take place every year for both the college and individual departments. The facilities provided in classrooms include smart boards, white boards, chalk board and the classrooms are big enough to seat many students. The societies overall are very engaging and work regularly to ensure we are shaped as individuals and learn something along the way.

Admission

The admission process of my college comes under Delhi University where we are supposed to submit a preference list with all our desired courses and colleges under DU and we get admission on the basis of our CUET results. The eligibility is Class XII pass in all the subjects that you fill the form for in CUET. The cutoffs had changed this year and for my course and category, it dropped around 800/1000. I applied to other college under DU like SRCC, Hindu, Hansraj and St. Stephens College. I had also applied in St.Xaviers, Kolkata where I couldn't get admission due to a lower score in Maths. However, Ramjas was also one of my top choices and I was happy to secure admission here. I chose this college because it gives the perfect combination of proper education along with amazing campus life which is what everyone desires in college. The faculty is good and the maximum crowd is really friendly. Therefore, this college comes on the top for many as well as me.

Faculty

4

My subjects are Economics as major and Maths as minor and the faculty that I have received are very good. Sawan Sir for Mathematics has been very helpful in helping me solve since Maths has been a weak subject for me. The faculties are very engaging with students, they're always helping us out and keeping doubt sessions so that we understand better. We're given assignments which are moderately difficult and tests will be conducted in the next few weeks. The course curriculum is relevant as well since I am studying both mathematical analysis and introductory micro in my first semester and it isn't that difficult if we pay attention in class.

Interview Experience

4

No, I didn't face any GD round after the admission process. It was only through my CUET results. However, society recruitments include GDs and PIs. The admission criteria was just to match the cutoff for the course that I wanted to pursue in whichever college and it would be allotted to me.

Night Life

5

For students to unwind after classes, they can use the gym and canteen. There are specific timings for both boys and girls in the gym and the canteen provides really tasty food and becomes a really nice hangout after classes. I think famous places to hangout could be the English Corridor, Eco/Chem Lawn and the Amphitheatre. Outside the university there are a lot of places for good food nearby and it's moderately safe to roam around there at night. Girls would prefer not to however, it isn't as unsafe as it seems from experience if you are careful and not alone. Famous hangout spots outside include Sudama Tea Stall, Tom Uncle Maggi Point, Manchanda Canteen, etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
