Course Curriculum Overview

4

Due to implementation of the New Education Policy there has been a dilution of core subjects and disvision of emphasis on SEC, VAC, GE and language/EVS. This can be approached by students taking mindful decisions about supplementary subjects and better faculty management in the coming years.

Internships Opportunities

2

The students can apply for internship in various social organizations and NGOs.These are updated via social networking sites. However the remunerated internships are concentrated towards commercial courses only.

Placement Experience

3

The college has ample placement opportunities from renowned companies. However, these are concentrated towards courses of commerce and finance. A student of any course ust also be active in internship which can be secured from eclectic backgrounds for this helps in separate future pursuits. I intend to be a diplomat, for which I will be appearing for UPSC. The college does not offer any placemnt for this particular course, however, with ample internship experience one can accelarate themselves professionally.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fees as of 2025-26 is INR 16098. The college also avails scholarship for meritorius students and students from reserved category. Scholarship can also be applied for by students in the college through a registration process. The estimate fee structure of various courses is similar. The merit cum need scholarship varies within the range of full fee, however, it is subject to other variables such as household income, other scholarships availed by the student under PMSSS, physical disability, etc.

Campus Life

3

Situated in North Campus, all colleges are in close proximity and that too with the main building. This allows consortium of diverse ideas and flow of book resources and opportunities easily. The college has numerous societies and frequently organized events. The infrastructure is not modern and basic sanitation is still an issue. Class capacity is insufficient. While this has not detained student interaction and participation, infrastructure is the primary facet which can be worked upon.

Admission

I applied for Christ University- Bangalore, Ashoka University and Panjab Univerity along with Delhi University. I secured admission spots in all colleges. Securing admission in Delhi University - North Campus was the most convenient option for career prospects. I intend to prepare for a career in diplomacy and the college with respect to ocation, crowd, faculty and resources was the most viable option. Admission is secured via marks in Common University Entrance Test. The pre-requisite is that the candidate must have qualified class 12. Candidates can secure admission throiugh various quotas which supplement CUET scores such as ECA, Sports, CW, etc. The cutoff is competitve however through alternative avenues one can make up for low score via high practical potential.

Faculty

4

The faculty-stuent ratio is 1:20. Teachers are amiable. The sessions are interaction-based and a free scape is ensured for questioning, discussion, doubt clarification and debate. Since I am pursuing History (Hons.), a comprehensive perspective of history faculty can be presented. Ramjas History department is rmuch reverred in the circuit of University of Delhi. Teachers ensure that syllabus and world beyond that is correlated which justifies the study of subject and in turn enhances the quality. Exams take place at the end-of-semester. An undergraduate student opting for 4-year degree will give 8 exams. The subjects are alloted in line with New Education Policy. Every semester the student studies 3 Disciplinary cores, 1 General Elective, 1 skill enhancement course, 1 value-added course and 1 regional language studied alternately with Environmental Science. Previous data shows that pass percentage has gone up. Students who fail to Qualify can reappear. The status quo dimishes the emphasis on core subjects for it is to be economised in line with other courses alot of which might not be relevant. Also the students tend to opt for subjects for qualifying purpose rather prospects of gainful understanding and employment which diminishes the course. However, this can be sorted if ithere is increased awareness and students take mindful decisions.

Night Life

5

The college has specified timings of gym and library. The cafeteria can be accessed within the working hours. Most students tend to stay in close proximity to campus which improves interaction. The campus is located in a historical place where avenues of shopping and recreation abound. Moreover, improved connectivity due to metro makes all places accessible. It is common to stroll and get together. All in all, the campus has active nightlife.

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
