Course Curriculum Overview

4

I am majoring in economics and minoring in computer applications. I liked this course and chose it due to my own likeness towards economics as a subject and also thought that computer applications would be a good addition in this day and age where a skill like computers could be very beneficial. The curriculum prepares you fairly well depending on the different life paths you have and also the different future career opportunities you are looking to find the timing of the exams arent the best as we often have exams during new years or christmas. It acts as a hindrance in our own personal/social life but the frequency of exams is still okay since we dont have mid semester exams at all but IA/CAs get very hectic

Internships Opportunities

5

there are multiple companies like medlife, EY, Deloitte, Grant thorton etc who offer internship opportunities and also some small scale companies that come for internships and placement opportunities.

Placement Experience

4

Placements of my college are pretty good. The placement cell of my college is pretty active and facilitataes the placement process. Companies like Deloitte, EY and PWC often come to our college for placements with the average package being Rs. 8,00,000. After getting this degree, i will pursure another degree in MBA or I might also take a part in the placement process and pursue an MBA later. Students in semester 6 and further can take part in the placement process but there are internship fairs and summer internship programmes for students who are not eligible for placements

Campus Life

5

the overall experiencee is very nice. we have a lot of fests and events organised throughout the year with opportunities ot participate for students of all years. we have smart boards in msot classrooms now and also computer labs as well as sports rooms and a gym. there are many sports also like basketball, soccer, archery etc and also socieities like enactus and national service socieity which give students opportunities to also give back to society

Admission

I chose Jesus and Mary college as it is a well reputed college and provides a lot of opportunities for networking and making connections which will matter in the corporate world in the future. I applied to multiple colleges including NMIMS, Symbiosis and a lot of different colleges of Delhi University but because of the course and opportunities i chose to go with my college. i got a rejection from some du colleges but got excepted into nmims and symbiosis along with colleges like jindal global university and indraprastha university colleges. the admission process was through the univeristy of delhi portal and after giving the exam called CUET, its fairly easy to apply to different colleges and track admission status

Faculty

5

The faculties are very approachable and nice. They are always willing to help students with any issues regarding college or otherwise. I am a part of the economics department so I can comment on the economics faculty from personal experience. I have had an amazing experience with the economics faculty as well as the sports faculty. They are very nice to students and help us with whatever our issues are even during major events and fests. There are mainly internal and continuous assessments in college. We also have practicals and then our end semester examinations. Certain courses are not very relevant to the curriculum like we are forced to study Hindi when it has no importance in most students' future careers and dont have any relevance to students majoring in economics and other subjects.

Night Life

5

We have a small canteen which is a major con and the food is usually cold but the gym and library are so good. the libarary provides a good space to study and rest when the outside becoes more chaotic. the campus timings are from 8.30-4 and most kdis are accomodated in pg's near college. Inside college, the lawns and amphitheatre or the stairs of the thevenet hall are some of the best hangout spots but outside college, there is a maggi vendor nearby who sells amazing maggi. besides him, there are multiple cafes in chanakyapuri like tmt, cafe coffee day, diggin etc. the locality is very safe to roam around at night as it is also an embassy area where security is always high

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
