Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose the course because of the lucrative options after the degree other than this, the economics course is very analytical and mathematical. It doesn't prepare a well for further academic pursuit. If you want to go into academia nor does it prepare us for real world applications. I think that these can be in calculated in the course curriculum and the frequency and timing of exams can be put less pressure on the students

Internships Opportunities

4

Some companies that offer internships with stipend are usually small scale start-ups, but sometimes big companies come as well, so we have had uniqlo decathlon salesforce, et cetera, providing internships to students

Placement Experience

3

Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the third semester. Some of the reputed companies that visit our campus are Disha, KPMG, grand Thornton, et cetera. I think the highest package was 24 lakhs per annum and the average package is nine lakh Since a lot of students from our college do not typically go for placements. The percentage of students getting placement is relatively low and my plans after the degree are to find a job and pursue my masters after it.

Fees and Financial Aid

I'm Sehr Jilani, pursuing economics hons at Miranda House. Our fee structure is around 18000 per semester. I dont think any scholarships are available, not that i know of. Exam fees is to be paid according to du norms

Campus Life

5

We have an annual fest called Tempest and it is held in the month of April. Apart from this, we have Diwali mails and fests of various departments and societies which are held all across the year typically in the event semesters. Library is concerned the range and accessibility of books. The facilities and technological provisions are decent, but not too good teachers still use blackboard instead of smart boards and there is not there is not a lot of technology involved in our course. Sports is usually not too accessible to people who do not come from the sports ECA category. There are a lot of societies and clubs.

Hostel Facilities

5

Our rooms are clean and spacious compared to other PG's and flats in the area. We have luscious green learns outside our rooms. The male quality is a little bad sometimes, but I think it is hygienic and better than the food standard of other PG's and flats. The registration process for Hostel is pretty straightforward. You have to do it through the website, and the affordability is very good.

Admission

Other than Miranda, I applied to other colleges in Delhi University itself. Apart from this, I also applied to Ashoka University OP Jindal and Shiv Nadar. I got a confirmed offer in all of these. However, the fees was a very huge barrier. I chose Miranda house because of its reputation and the low fee structure. The admission process relies only on CUET and it is pretty straightforward.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is good. The relationships are strictly formal. They do not go beyond teaching the subject. Apart from classes, they are not too approachable and there is no record of where the teachers are so if you need to find them in college, you will not be able to. I personally like Malabika mam under a few other professors were very good. There are two IA and two CA for our core subjects and their moderate to difficult. The course curriculum is not too relevant, but it does teaches the basic principles..

Night Life

5

There are a lot of gyms, cafeteria and public places around North campus where you can visit even late at night. We do not have a curfew at the Miranda House Hostel, so we can go out and go in any time for any amount of days and I really enjoy that freedom that that it provides Some famous hangout places inside the college would be the lawns and the canteen and cafe area and outside the locality, it would be Patel chest, and some good cafes in Hudson Lane here and there I have found the locality to be pretty safe at night, considering the police that petrol it often.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
