Course Curriculum Overview

4

The economics curriculum at Miranda House is relevant and comprehensive. It does build strong theoretical foundations and helps with higher studies. More real world applications could make it even better

Internships Opportunities

3

Miranda House provides good internship opportunities for economics students, mostly through the placement and career cells. Companies offering internships include research firms, banks and certain NGOs as well

Placement Experience

3

Economics students usually get placement opportunities from the 5th semester. The placement cell offers internships and some job opportunities, though most students prefer higher studies. The overall employablity is good, however after my course i plan for further studies

Fees and Financial Aid

I am currenty pursuing BA Hons Economics and the yeraly fees is quite reasonable. For the first year i am paying rs 16060, which includes tution fees, university fees, development fees etc. The fees has been constant without any annual hike. My batchmates fromSC/ST categories pay lower fees as per the DU regulations. The college does offer multiple scholarship opportunites that the students can apply according to eligibility.

Campus Life

4

Campus life at Miranda is vibrant and engaging. Societies organise various events and the annual fest "tempest" is the highlight. The library has a wid erange of books and journals. Sports and other activities are quite accessible too

Admission

I chose Miranda House because of its strong reputation, faculty quality and supportive academic environment compared with other DU colleges i applied for. The CSAS admission process was quite straightforward, based on CUET scores and cutoffs. My score matched the cutoffs for this course in this college , so i opted for it over other colleges

Faculty

3

The faculty-student ratio is good and teachers are very approchable especially in the economics department. The course is structured well and exams follow DU's internal grading system. Papers are moderate and the curriculum is quite relevant

Night Life

3

Being a day scholar, the nightlife for me is limited. Like me most students leave by 5-6pm. Nearby Hudson lane and CP are popular places to hangoutfor meals and even shopping. The area is generally safe

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
