Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum Is highly relative to the prevailing situations in the World. The reputation of Delhi University as well as the opportunities offered by it influenced my decision to choose this university. Talking choosing the course was due to the course as well as interest In economics and mathematics. The course curriculum prepares for real world applications and further academic pursuits By developing intellectual quotient level, As well as by teaching From the basics To the advance topics. There are some areas for improvements in the course curric and teaching method such as more alignment to the real world applications, A unified platform for resources to study from. There is a high need for development in teaching methods, Faculty members needs to be more topic oriented and not focus this particular examination only. The frequency and timings of examinations its very convenient to the student from my perspective, The level of difficulty varies from examination to examination but it's kept moderate overall.

Placement Experience

3

The college Offers campus placements which are mostly in the private sector. Students are eligible for Campus Placements after Completing the 4th semester or we say on completion second year. Many companies are brought on board By the placement cell of the college. In this list also Mkinsey, EY, KPMG, Which are some of the prominent rulers of their industries. The median package offered to UG was 6 lakhs per annum, Top 9 students were offered a median salary of 9,00,000 per annum. Around 490 were placed From campus placements of the college out of 1300 students eligible For the placements, These are only approximate figures and not exact. The highest package offered from the college is around 14,00,000 per annum. Talking about my plans after getting the degree is going for highest studies, Either Masters in economics or MBA in business economics.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees I will be paying is 19,030. It may be increasing year after year, The tuition fee is 180, University Student Welfare Fund is 250, College Student Welfare Fund is 10,150, University Development Fund is 1500, College Development Fund is 3000, University facilities and service charges are 1500, College facilities and services charges are 2,160 , Economically weaker Section Support University Fund is 250, Delhi University Students Union Fund is 40. Cease of arson commerce students is exactly and fees of science students is 20,630. Various scholarships are available for the students. Such as Tanija Foundation scholarship which is available to 10 students from all over the courses which is based on merits plus need basis, Sultan Chand Memorial scholarship, Dr Usha Agrawal Tejashwi Scholarship, Inder Rajdhan Memorial Prize, Dr Naresh Kumari Suresh Memorial, SK Batra Memorial Prize, Principal CL Suri Memorial Prize, Shyam Sunder Arora Memorial Prize, Dr K.C. Trikha Memorial Prize, These all scholarships are for the best students from each of the courses available in the college, Academic Prize scholarship is for the first and second holder from all over the courses available, Alumni Association Scholarships is for 10 students from all over the courses which is based on merit plus need basis. The amount of the scholarships is varying from scholarship to scholarship. The college also provides scholarships EWS as well as students SC and ST category. Scholarships are also available for girl child students. The college also provides financial aid for books to certain students according to need basis,

Campus Life

4

Talking about overall experience with campus life, The students are very friendly and supportive, The best parts of the college life are the festivals in the colleges, There is one big of the college which is named Tide, It is organized by the Student Union in collaboration with the college around the month February and March. Colleges many societies operated by students And mentored by conveners of the societies. Each society also hold its Festivals in various times of the year. Thursday College offers various sports and extracurricular activities in the campus. Many clubs are created for engagement of students in sports. There is a need of technological improvement within the classrooms to digitize The teaching. Books in jour are available in the library for each and every subject but may not be new editions. The college he is regularly trying to Increase the facilities offered to students.

Admission

I am currently in ATMA RAM SANTANA DHARMA COLLEGE Which is associated with Delhi University which is the Central University of India. The admission in the university is done by the common university entrance test conducted national testing agency of India. Colleges are allotted according to the cut offs of this particular and the the student prefers to join. There are four rounds of allotments, I choose to freeze the allotment In my first round because I was satisfied in the first round itself. In comparison of my college to To different colleges which I applied for, Such as Shiram College of Commerce Hansraj College Ramjas College Hindu College S.t. Stephen College, My is at NIRF of ranking 7 according to the report 2026. The teaching faculties better in the in this college but needs an infrastructure development thus lacks Behind other colleges. Some of the highly demanded courses of the Delhi University is B.Com(H), B.com (Prog), BA(H) Psycology, BA(H)History, BA(H)Economics, BA(H) Political Science. My admission experience was not very good due to the discrepancies of national Testing of India in conducting the common university entrance exam. The cut offs of this exam varies Course to course, the science Courses are less in and even seats are left at the and of all the rounds. There is also a Mop up round in which admissions are done on the marks of class 12 and not by considering the marks obtain common university entrance test.

Faculty

3

Every faculty member is assigned a set of five to 10 students To whom he or she mentors, This mentorship is apart the teaching. Talking about the each faculty is assigned around 50 students of each year, It may be varying from courses to courses in the college. The best faculty wish I could find in the college is Mr Sandeep Kanyal, Because of easy approachability and teaching style. Moreover course structure is as follows: The course is divided into four years according to NEP, 4th year is optional, Each year comprises of two semesters, Each semester has main subjects and four optional subjects, Optional comprises of General Elective Which is a theory subject, Ability enhancement course which is also a theory subject, Skill enhancement course as well as value addition course, These may be theory or practical according to option of student. The course curriculum is regularly updated and thus, is relevant. Exams are conducted In the month December for ODD semesters And in the month of May for EVEN semesters. If you get back in any of the subjects, You need to pass it in the Even or odd semester accordingly in which it was back. A student gets 7 years To complete the course. Marking keeps on changing from exam to exam but is kept moderate, So that It is not very difficult for the to clear the exam.

Night Life

4

The college does not offer nightlife in the college campus. There are no in the college right now. There is no facility of in the college, Cafeteria is quite big and can accommodate many students. A library is very nice and offers a wide range of books and journals, With a very quiet environment to promote self study. Talking about campus timings, The opening of campus is 8:30 AM in the morning, And closing goes up to 6:30PM in the evening. There is a very good hangout spot near the college named Satya NIKETAN, In which many accomodate, Various PGs and flats are available in this area. All the facilities which a student are available in this area. These experiences make the college life memorable.

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
