Course Curriculum Overview

4

Honestly I wanted to pick journalism as my first priority but I wasn't able to get it due to merit issue so I opt for political science hons as my backup but another was to choose this couse was my interest in my country and world politics and thier udeas and ways of governance so it quite realistic as I said before couse can be more practical rather than being more theoretical it will majorly enhance course value also would increase course financial opportunities and teachers can improve thier teaching methods by using visual methods of teaching to make it more understandable , exam timings are good also thier difficulty level was moderate, like if you have read about your paper went through pyqs you will easily be able to crack it.

Placement Experience

2

Companies visit are often at our college like Deloitte, wipro , Infosys , KPMG etc but options are wide only for commerce background students they are limited for arts faculty students like me. Highest package is about 6 to 7 lpa while most of the package ranges between 4 to 6 lpa percentage of students getting are average and they are mostly from comm letce and economic or business background. I would go for journalism and choose IIMC for my master's.

Fees and Financial Aid

As a student of political science my annual fee is 20000 approx and this fee covers amidst 10 to 15 distinct charges such as library fees, tution fees, mess charges etc it same for all three year students also every batchmate of mine pays the same but some students belonging from sc and st have significantly lower fee than general student while exam registration fee approximately lies between 1100 to 1500. And yes college provides fee succession of 10 % to 100 % based upon merits particularly to the students of reserved category and EWS students. And for the scholarship it is also provided significantly based on merit.

Campus Life

5

Well in my college, campus life is vibrant with lots of commotion and hustle -bustle. Fest are quite big cheerful and colourful too and to be honest here everyday you so find somethingnew happening in the college. Range of books and journal in library is quite large helpful and meaningful you won't be disappointed with that while technology is also good , sports and extracurricular activities also highly offered by our campus . Social clubs and societies are also very active infact I am also a part of a very active debating society in my college and they have a significant effect in students life as they help them in lot of things like time management etc

Admission

I have applied in BHU to and DU 's other colleges as well but I won't regret coming to shaheed bhagat Singh Evening College even a bit, and yaa I have completed registration process even get admission in Amu too , but I guess my college provides more exposure than my previous registrated college so it worth it no luckily I didn't get rejection in any of my applied college. Eligibility criteria of my college was cuetug and I was a science stream students who chose PCB + english+ physical education . But in my college mostlt students prefere bcom and cutoff for my college and usual cutoff for my course ( Political science hons) in my college is 600 + out of 1000 overall admission was good , a little bit tedious too but it was worth it.

Faculty

3

The faculty to student ration largely friends on opt course of a student but it generally be like 1:30 morning session have more teacher incomparsion of evening one, evening one ( my college) has roughly 140 to 150 faculty members and for teachers behaviour age three approchablity so ya there are quite approchable and student friendly means they don't neglect student issues and there arguments . I am in political science department and my faculty members are really good, I like them because they listen to students issues and there problem and try to help them with that. Honestly nether I can't make the best faculty member nor the worst one because I haven't met all the members yet but ya I can say history department can be improved more because there teachers are just too un - negotiationable . For exams there are mainly 2 exams held in one year each at the end of semester and they are usually at moderate level, mostly students are able to clear the exam and curriculum is good but it can be more practical rather than being more theoretical to make it more relevant.

Night Life

5

Library and cafeteria is quite good. Sports rooms are average public area is also good we don't have gym and hostel here in our college. While timing are different for morning college student and evening one morning Starts from 9 to 3 and evening from 3 to 8 typically . Here we have parks and cafes as our favourite hangout cafe also nearby historical places are also good for hanging out with friends.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
