It is the first IIT institute in India which was set up in 1951. Great alumni like Sundar Pichai is from here. Yes. Seniors and alumni are really helpful. Once a KGPian is always a KGPian. Alumni support a lot in terms of giving feedback about the college. Alumni have their own store for selling kgp branded shirts, cups, book and etc etc.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Course Curriculum for Master's degree is quite research type oriented because here it is taken as Joint M.tech/PhD programme. After 1st year if you get 8 cgpa and above, you are given chance of doing your PhD here itself after a written exam and interview. We have mid-term, assignments and End semester exams to be evaluated.
Placement Experience
For all the Masters students qualified in GATE, MHRD will be providing a stipend of 12,400/- per month and also you can avail various other scholarships. The placements for MCP students is quite low. But the opportunities after you graduate will be more outside or in government sectors. The internship sometimes will be provided within the department itself under various government projects.
College Events
We have two cultural fest happening within a gap of one week in the month of January. It's completely a refreshment for all the students and those will be the moments that will be cherished for the whole life after. Bollywood celebrities often give performance during these fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities
For Masters degree, the fee payable per semester is 55k for OC students and 50k for SC and ST students. The fee includes accommodation 15k, mess advance of 12k, annual medical insurance, caution deposit of 6k and other expenses.

The Hostel have wifi connection, near by canteens for food. Common mess for all the students. Moreover, it is animal friendly, you can find dogs or cats anywhere in the campus which won't even harm you.

Admission
You have to appear for GATE entrance exam which will be held in February every year. GATE exam will be out of 100 marks and while you're graduating your CGPA should be above 6.5 and if you are SC/ST, then above 6.
Faculty
Faculties are highly innovate and knowledgeable. Most of them are from highly reputable institutes like NITs and IITs itself. They have experience with work done from Foreign too. They encourage you all the time.
