Great for indian engineering students. Fall apart when compared to MIT or Stanford. Need to be more dynamic and focus more on hiring good professors.
Placement Experience
Because of growing population and less job demand the overall job opportunities in India is generally less that that of US. But still every genuine student gets a decent job. Internships are also provided through on campus drives. Average job salaries range from 10-15 lpa.
College Events
Cultural- holi, diwali, alcheringa, and all other festivals. Technical- techniche, tech- evince, etc. Sports - inter iit sports meet, spardha etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible according to indian scenario. Recent increase. Several scolarships for sc- st- obs and economically weak students.
Fees and Financial Aid
Loans provided by almost all banks at relatively cheaper rate because of a tier 1 institution. Scholarship also provided to weaker sections of society. I have availed none though
Hostel Facilities
Hostel, decent with cheaper rents, also single rooms are alloted to almost everyone. Food is also decent according to indian hostel standards. Some Sports facilities also available within hostel
Alumni/Alumna
Vast alumni netwrk with very helpful seniors. Some of them are now the leading job providers of india. Alumni from even other IIT's are helpful.
Admission
Indian institute of technology joint enterance examination 2015. Preparation in kota for two years. Iit jee consists of two papers- jee mains and jee advanced of three and six hours respectively.
Faculty
Average. Younger faculty are better than ones which came when institute just started. They need to focus more on making student learn more and think from student's point of view.
