The University of Hertfordshire scholarships for 2026 help Indian students reduce the overall cost of studying in the UK through a mix of merit-based, early payment, and automatic awards. Most scholarships are auto-applied with no separate application, making them simple and accessible for both undergraduate and postgraduate applicants.

The total scholarship benefit can go up to £8,000 (₹9.8 lakhs) or more across the course duration, depending on eligibility and course type. Since most awards are linked to academic performance, early deposit payment, and full fee payment, applying early plays a key role in maximizing savings. A few notable scholarships offered by the University of Hertfordshire include:

  • Chancellor’s International Scholarship:
    • Up to £4,000 (₹4.9 lakhs)
    • Based on academics, English score, and SOP

    • Total up to £6,000–£8,000 for full course duration

    • For new MBBS students

Note: £1 = ₹123.18 as of April 6, 2026, is used across the article for currency conversion.

  • I looked for accommodation mainly through online platforms, the university housing portal, and student accommodation websites. The main challenge was the high demand and limited availability of on-campus housing.
  • Start searching early before the semester begins, explore both on-campus and private housing, and always check reviews or consult with the university's accommodation team for safe and reliable options.

  • Living on campus is expensive, while if you share a room outside campus, it can be as cheap as 350 per month, including bills.

  • I can't answer much honestly here as I decided to move back to India but mostly 90 percent of students get placements after university. Average pay is GBP 29,000 per year.
  • Students are typically advised to attend job fairs both online and offline along with applying on Gradcracker.
  • Highest and lowest salaries cannot be declared as most students don't wish to discuss their salaries.

Scholarship

  • Yes, I did receive some scholarship that was worth 1000 pounds. This scholarship was from the university side. I didn’t apply for any other scholarship that is from any other source but there are some options that literally make the education fully funded by them.
  • There are some criteria that need to be fulfilled to avail that for which I was not eligible. The university scholarship is given to every student who pays the fee on time.

  • I opted for off campus as there is no opportunity to work around the campus and the rents in campus are high. The monthly rents and bills will be around 500£ for off campus and 700£ for in campus so I would prefer and advise you to choose off campus accommodation. But if somebody is not looking for any jobs and they want the comfort to stay near campus then in campus housing  will be a good choice.

  • Yes there is early bird scholarship and multiple other scholarships these are actually discounts which range from 1000 - 2000 gbp.
  • None of my batch mates got any actual scholarship or financial aids, we applied for financial aids but didn’t got any.
  • Most of the students didn’t receive any kinds of scholarships since it is not based on semester wise fee payment, you have to pay the in full or at least 65%

  • To find my first accommodation I texted to people in what’s app groups got scammed once, then I found one genuine person and found accommodation they are charging way more than the actual room cost, then after few months me and my friends went to real estate agents and took a flat for ours and we are living in it right now, initially the accommodation are hard to find.
  • My recommendation is to stay in University accommodation for one year or stay in Hatfield, my accommodation is 1hr away from college in bus, there are bus facility near to me

Scholarship

  • Yes, in this university we have got the scholarship, this scholarship is given by University of Hertfordshire itself.
  • Some students had got tri- year and some have got only a year. As I had got £1300 scholarship which is very much helpful for me with my tuition fees workout.
  • Nevertheless, not all the students got it as far as I know, because to those people to whom I met some of them have got and some haven’t.

  • As per accommodation I am living with my father’s maternal Uncle’s son and his family here. So, I do not need to stay anywhere else, that’s true that my University is far from here around 1 hour 45 mins but it worth it.
  • As in my rent I am paying for room as well as for the food as well my aunt prepares food for me. And in terms of rents, as a good relative they take less rent from me compared to others.

Firstly! I applied for admission considering the specialized program and location of the University. I got admission without any delay. Alongside the University offered an early deposit tuition fee discount. I have wasted no time and paid my initial deposit. I proceeded further to the next steps, every step was smooth, to be honest. My overall experience at the university so far has been somewhat elevated compared to my previous experiences in the UG. I have chosen to apply to this university for different reasons. Firstly the advanced learning, depth of research techniques and industry-oriented training. The knowledge and skills needed to pursue a successful career are the main factor in this process. I could share more thoughts on my experiences when I am graduating next year.

I searched about this university online before joining the university, and most people gave positive feedback about Hertfordshire University and that my course has a good scope in this university. So, that's why I chose this university. My overall experience is good.

It was very enlightening and gave me a chance to grow. Coming from a 3rd world country to a 1st world country is not easy but fortunately I got comfortable as time went on. I can look back and say I enjoyed my university experience as it has made me the person I am today which I am proud of.
