Once you get into either of these IITs, you won’t look back or regret your choice. While all IITs offer tremendous exposure in various fields, the location does create a slight difference.
:)
IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Material Science Engineering offers a vibrant campus life with numerous clubs and excellent placement stats, boasting an 80% placement rate and impressive packages, making it a solid choice for those interested in hands-on learning and industry connections. In contrast, IIT Guwahati's B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing may have a more outdated curriculum, but it still provides strong internship opportunities and a decent campus atmosphere.
Personally, I would lean towards IIT Delhi for its better placements and more engaging student experience, especially if you value a dynamic environment and industry exposure. However, if you prefer theoretical depth with a focus on computing, IIT Guwahati might suit you better.
IIT Delhi’s B.Tech in Electrical Engineering offers a well-renowned faculty and a rigorous curriculum that promotes problem-solving skills, making it ideal for those passionate about electrical circuits and machines. The campus life is vibrant with numerous clubs and activities, but the high fees can be a drawback for many. In contrast, IIT Guwahati's B.Tech in Engineering Physics appears to have a less competitive environment regarding faculty and curriculum, but it still provides good placement opportunities with tech giants. If you’re set on electrical engineering and want a prestigious degree, IIT Delhi is the way to go. However, if you lean towards a broader physics-based approach and prefer a potentially less stressful environment, IIT Guwahati could be a better fit.
IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Civil Engineering is a great choice if you want a strong ROI, especially with a fee structure of around 4-5 lakh for those eligible for fee waivers, compared to IIT Guwahati's B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing, which likely has similar fees but may not offer the same level of placement opportunities. IIT Delhi boasts top-tier companies like Google and Amazon, making it an attractive option for placements, while internships are also plentiful. If you're looking for a solid financial choice with excellent placement prospects, go for IIT Delhi. However, if you have a strong interest in mathematics and computing, IIT Guwahati could be a fit, but the financial benefits may not be as pronounced.
IIT Delhi is the better choice, not just because it's closer to home, but because you don't have a specific interest. In that case, IIT Delhi is your best option! Here’s why: Flexibility: At IIT, you can explore various subjects. You can even take computer science courses while being in the chemical engineering branch., Opportunities: IIT Delhi offers a wide range of electives, allowing you to tailor your education to your interests., and Reputation: IIT Delhi has a strong reputation and excellent placement opportunities.. So, if you're unsure about your specific path, IIT Delhi is the way to go!
IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing offers superior placement prospects compared to IIT Guwahati's B.Tech in Chemical Science and Technology. The rigorous curriculum at IIT Delhi equips students for high-paying roles in tech and finance, with top companies like Microsoft and Jane Street recruiting heavily, and last year's highest package hitting an impressive 4 crore. On the other hand, while IIT Guwahati has a solid reputation, the job market for Chemical Science tends to be narrower, focusing more on traditional industries. Therefore, if you're aiming for lucrative tech and quant roles, IIT Delhi is the way to go, but if you have a passion for chemical sciences and want to explore that field, IIT Guwahati could be a better fit.

Placements at IIT Guwahati are excellent especially in the tech field ,with high placement rates and strong average packages generally Rs 30 lakh per annum. Top companies regularly visit the campus. After completing the course if i do not get placed on campus which is hardly possible i'll look for other off campus placements.

The faculty to student ratio is 1:12 - 1:15 with overall faculty interaction as descent with many professors available for any kind of help. The institute has highly qualified faculty specially in tech field. Each semester includes mid term exams , end term exams , with quizzes and assignments and the difficulty ranges from moderate to high but can be managed through consistency.

At IIT Guwahati campus life is vibrant with active clubs and major fest like Alcheringa and Techniche . Social life is so strong through hostel interactions and infrastructure is modern and well - equipped .

Hostel is well occupied with all facilities, like gym , library , canteen. Also the hostel mess food is good, and there is variety of food in mess. There are 13 hostels in total , which includes 10 boys and 3 girls hostels. All hostels have the similar facilities.
