The faculty members of our department are very helpful and all are experienced teachers and their teaching methods are also good.
The campus of the university is very beautiful and calm.
Hostel facilities are also very good, the hostel infrastructures are very good and the hygiene is also well maintained in the hostels .

Dislikes

The over stress because of the exam pattern
Even though the university excells in academic excellence but the pressure is too much high. More extra curricular activities may nitiated.
Not much funded nternships are provided by the University or departments.

A Brief Window into Tezpur University

Likes

The overall campus environment is healthy due to a green campus, and is far away from the busy and bustling settings of campuses inside the city.
The university takes education seriously, and the punctuality in examinations and result declaration speaks of it.

Dislikes

The distance from the city makes it difficult it students wish to travel.
There is a lack of scope for co-cirriculars as the university is very academia focussed

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is a perfect mix of traditional and modern English studies. It ranges from a basic understanding of the language, followed by a comprehensive study of the history of English literature. Most canonical texts are given proper weightage, ranging from drama, fiction and poetry. The syllabus teaches these at a chronological order, which instills respect for history. The syllabus also has a strong grasp over theory, with everything from Plato and Aristotle to modern and postmordern theories being taught. There are four exams, including an assignment or presentation, which might be a little too much in the beginning. The curriculum could be improved by adding more Indian and South East Asian texts, and reducing the redundancy in moving from graduate to postgraduate courses.

campus is good and sport ground at university are good.
girls are at the university are very good and number of girls is greater than boys.
library at university is good and number of books and journal almost are avilable.

Dislikes

i donot like mess food at the university hostel.
wifi is slow at my hostel room ,router is far from my room.
we are not eligible to drive vehicle at the university.

tepur university has very good placemt rating,after the six semester student are eligaible for placement there are many companies visited for placenet are TCS,IOCL,ITC, AMUL.IN our depratment most of the student are placed. for phd in the same university.

Good university if you are a serious aspirant for GATE

Likes

Great infrastruture and good sports facilities
good hostels and spacious rooms with good hygiene
good food and good enviroment and anti ragging campus

Dislikes

people behavior towards outsiders and culture
non cooperative faculty members with irritating behavior
high rated things are sold in the stores

Placement Experience:

yes there is campus placement and it is not upto that level so many of the students focus on giving further entrance exams such like gate,upsc and many of them go to abroad but currently the scenario of placements are getiing improved.

Likes

Good infrastructure facilities with good hostel and smart classes
Net zero emission hostels and departments with solar panels installed on most of the hostels and departments
Well qualified and good number of professors with good laboratory facilities

Dislikes

Bad connectivity of tezpur city from rest of india is a huge challenge I face
Exam seasons are very hectic with multiple exam in a day

The placement is good with enough companies coming for on campus placement with 4-5 lakhs per annum the internships is also easily available for financial stability 60 to 70 percent people get placed with average packages

The ambiance of the place is very serene and beautiful
The faculty in the English Department are very good and helpful
The campus provides space for various sports and extracurricular activities

The exam schedule can be very hectic at times

The curriculum is well assessed. It helps the students in getting the basic ideas on the first semester and then those topics are expanded upon during the coming semesters. They also add new areas of study in every semester. Other subjects are also given from different departments.

Why you are choosing B.Tech for Tezpur university

Likes

I like Professor helping nature because he is always available for you for any kind of support.
Department provides you a mentor who always care about you
Dipartment has small library for students study area

Dislikes

Our department has very less appartus in laboratory
Apparatus available in laboratory is too old as it doesn't work properly
There are some criteria of attendance followed whic makes very hectic schedule

Placement Experience:

From 4th semester you can apply for campus placements but rate of campus placement is very poor. For good placement or job you have to prepare for othe competitive examination like GATE, IES etc.only 2 to 3% student get placed from my department with 5 to 6 LPA. Civil engineering has heighest package of 7 LPA and Average Package of 2.5 LPA.

Clubs and Societies of Music, Drama, Quiz etc
Hostel Facilities and Infrastucture of Departments and Other Buildings
Professors and Researchers and their qualifications

Dislikes

The campus is situated in a village area.
No technical festivals organised in the campus
Administration is not very effective in managing university

Placement Experience:

Companies like L&T, OIL, IGGL, RDC, BEL, AMAZON, ITC LIMITED, ITC INFOTECH, DALMIA, ALSTOM, TCS, CDAC, KECINTERNATIONAL, etc comes here for campus recruitment and internships. On an average 20- 30 % students gets placement from a particular department.

A brief review of life at Tezpur University

Likes

The campus life at TU is one of the best all over India. Not many universities have as many events and celebrations as this.
The hostels at TU are also of high quality. The hostel life that one can experience here is definitely highly commendable.

Dislikes

There are way too many exams that are conducted here at TU. Every semester, the university conducts four examinations. It is equivalent to having an examination every month for every subject that one has.

Placement Experience:

The placements of students at Tezpur University has had its highs and lows. Two or three years ago, students had received placements in conpanies like Amazon with hefty salaries. However, at present, the placement scenario has been facing some downfall compared to past records. Students can still get placed at different companies with an average package of around 6 LPA, however the chances of getting better off-campus placements is much higher.

Tezpur University: A comprehensive review

Likes

Hostel facility and lodging facilities for guests.
Campus facility and infrastructure for recreation
Vehicle parking and garage facility for visitors

Dislikes

Food. Food is not good enough for people from other parts of India
Traveling to University is a hassle due to lack of nearby railway station
Amenities is bad around the campus and you can't get much facilities.

Curriculum is pretty standard and up to the mark as per UGC guidelines. The engineering curriculum is particularly standard and can prepare you well for life ahead. The faculty is good enough but there's a lack of faculty in terms on quantity. Overall it's mediocre overall.

One of my friends attended Tezpur University. His experience with the university has not been good. Here are some of the things that she shared with me.

The administration there is headed by only one person and the VC is not cooperative.
You will get in trouble if any of your batch mates get involved in any misbehavior.
Attending classes there is very important and otherwise, you may not be allowed to do your internships.
The library is inadequate. The wifi facility on campus is also not that good.
The placement record of the institute is average. The average CTC offered at the recent placement drive was 3.5 LPA.

So, if you have other better options go for it.

What is your review of mechanical engineering department, Tezpur University?

One of my friends studied Mechanical at Tezpur University. Let me share his experiences and knowledge about the college. He, being a student there, will know the intricacies of the college and how they function.

Faculty: The mechanical department hosts a really good faculty. Most of them are good at teaching and all of them have a great research-oriented mindset.
Projects: About 80% of the projects are based on numerical simulations. These include optimization, analysis, modeling, developing CFD solvers, Comsol modeling and the rest are mainly experimental.
Specialization: The department mainly started its M.Tech course in 2013 with a specialization in Applied mechanics. The Thermal and Fluid Engineering specialization began in 2016 and from 2018 onwards, another specialization in Machine Design was also started. The department is definitely growing with time.

Placement:
