About SJU

Likes

The library facilities provided by the college is excellent. It is very useful for students studying here.
The food provided by the college in the canteen is very good.
The lab facilities are also easily available for research purposes.

Dislikes

The college is more crowded. Not enough space for all students at the same time.
Near the back gate of the college there are garbage dumb.
Washroom for students is not clean enough to use.

Placement Experience:

The placements are good here. We can see a number of companies coming for the college to offer students. For ug 5th and 6th semester students are eligible and for PG 4th and 5th semester students are eligible. 20 percent students will get placed for sure. My plan is to do Ph.D.

aura ,competitive mindset ,faculties teachers are the best part
placements are good , people are very helpful
glam college people are filled with colorful dresses

Dislikes

parking is a problem for the college need more space
library is limited with books closes very soon
fees is very high now hostel fees are also high.

i was clear to join bcom and i was pretty sure that best in bangalore will be the SBMJC college and their curriculum was so great that the first interview was cracked just because of the methods and techniques taught to us by our teachers,

Good college for girls and nice faculty

Likes

Teachers were good in teaching and good faculty and it was a girls college so it was good
Too be frank I was a irregular student because of my health issues but also I enjoyed my college life
Teaching methods were good and they use to convey the method to students

Dislikes

Not all but 1 or 2 teacher were targeting the students and were giving less marks
The environment of college should change and need to develop more
Canteen will be getting changed and not allow to go outside, students will feel like being in prisoner

Yes , my curriculum helped me lot . I took this course because in that all the various subjects were there to learn It will help a lot , for example human resource subject helps for recruitment Need more communication to finish methods We use to get the enough time to complete it

University parking spaces are expensive.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester where you have to do an internship project for the semester based Most of the companies that visit are from the news organisations like Bangalore Times, The Hindu, Mint, Times of India, Deccan Herald and other companies like ITC also visit frequently. I am not quite sure about the packages offered.

Likes

Teaching is good. Lecturers are good. They take responsibility about students
College environment also good. Students are well behaved.
They provided good materials about projects and teaching well

Dislikes

Teaching good but lectures are almost parttime lecturers. Always changed.
College environment good. But our college at busy place.
Our college office stop very rude. Don't done work hard. Very lazy

I liked the fact that the college provides extracurricular activities as well such as fests, sports events and cultural events.
The teachers are approachable and helpful
The students are friendly and proactive.

Dislikes

There are strict discipline measures throughout.
Attendance related issues are very strict and need to be followed.
A uniform dress code needs to be followed

The curriculum is comprehensiv. For psychology, they include all domains uder it and give insight intob each which makes it easier to choose one for further studies. They have practicals to help understand the real life applications of theories and concepts.

Tips for a Mass Communication student at SJU

Likes

The university's campus is a large space. There are separate blocks for UG and PG. I appreciate the overall campus life, and also the environmental aspects like trees and plants around.
As several events take place on campus everyday, the campus life always has something happening, make the day fun and entertaining. However, the quality of social interactions depends on your willingness to interact with people.
There is a good student-teacher relationship which helps the mentorship be of quality. With interactive teaching and seminars by industry experts, the teaching quality is good.

Dislikes

The placement services are good for this course, as it provides students with multiple job opportunities in various top industries. Students get hired in top firms like ITC, Deccan Herald, The New Indian Express, Bangalore Mirror, CNN, Pink Lemonade.
The quality of infrastructure is updated for this specific course as it provides the students with audio and visual studios for the different course activities.
The course is very relevant to the career of my choice as it focuses on more forward topics. The hands-on experience in the studio as well gives a glimpse of how things work in the real world. The knowledge given by this course will definitely help.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Aspects of the course like Reporting and editing, advertising and PR drew my attention to this course. It covers a wide range of subjects in the Journalism industry making the student aware of every branch. The difficulty level of the exams is good, not too difficult. Proper preparation can help gain high marks easily.

Teaching is good in the college ,fee structure is also affordable for the middle class students, industrial visits are going once in a month .
Teaching Staff is good with students understanding and co- operating with the students understanding.
Infrastructure inside the college is good and nature friendly.

Dislikes

Fine on the delay of fee payment which impacts the trust towards the college.
Uniform quality is not good as per the price paid for the uniform not with for the money.
No proper planning regarding time tables

According to the reviews online, Bangalore University (BU) is an average university and is known to be deteriorating day by day.

Students are irritated by their evaluation system.
They tend to check the answer sheets carelessly.
The faculty never completes the syllabus.
The announcement of results is delayed quite often.
The condition of the campus is deteriorating and no action is taken to solve it.
There is a lack of core technical subjects in B.Com.

It is suggested that you do not go for BU, as it won't provide learning and understanding courses, topics and the concepts. It will be better if you opt for VTU instead.
