I like the teachers like dr.sheena she is one of the best teacher here .
Placements and internship opportunities are good. research support is also very strong. bangalore is nearby hence a lot of companies visit for campus placements
Fees are somewhat high but a lot of scholarship opportunities are there for students, especially college fee is free for those whose annual income is less than one lakh and third for those less than five lakhs

Dislikes

There was a lack of transparency while choosing college hostel.
Hostel food is not good, actually veg mess food is not good at all
There are not lot of thing which i dislike its just two which i mentioned above.

NITK - from student's view

Likes

Main attraction for others and me is placement and internship. Return of investment is very good in undergraduate programs.
Location of college is good. Transportation facility is nice and it is near to a big city 'mangalore'.
There are many activities to do in NITK. So we can make a good balance between academics and other things.

Dislikes

Climate is one of the problems. There are only two things, one is rain and other is high temperature.
Water shortage is another problem. Due to this, student suffer in his/her daily schedule as well as in other things.
Infrastucture for living is poor for first year students. Three students were living in a room of capacity of two persons.

Placement Experience:

This college is known for its placements. It starts from third year. In 2022, around 400 companies visited our campus. In 2023, highest package is 54 lpa and average package is 18 lpa. Around 92% students got placed and 3-4% went for higher studies. After completing my graduation, i want to get placed in a very good company as data scientist.

BEST NIT I FOUND

Likes

Canteen area where we can spend lot of time with friends
The indoor and out door games facilities are good

Dislikes

Some of the rules during the exams are strict
Proper dress code need to be followed daily.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As the generation is changing the ability of student to learn is also changing so based on the recent generation the curriculum is very aptly decided so that the students can learn easily and score good grade. The exams are not very much difficult but can be scored good marks by studying 1 week prior to the exams

Faculty is amazing here. Most of them have experience of atleast 10+ years in teaching and some of them have 25+ years. With this experience they always try give their best outcome.
Clubs which are solely run by the students are active throughout the year even during the vacation time, which helps to develop and improve the skills.
Beach. How can a student studying for JEE can not know about the beach of NITK. It is the only college to have its private beach ( atleast that's what they say )

Dislikes

Weather in surathkal and manglore is too extreme. It will be either hot or rainy. You won't see any winter season here.
Language can actually be a problem for the students especially for the north Indians as the locals cannot understand Hindi or English properly
Humidity is a real problem here. You will always sweaty and you always have to carry a umbrella

According to seniors students are eligible from 6th sem for the placements and CDC works really hard in maintaining a bridge between students and companies. Every top company comes for the campus placements and they even hire interns with a good payment. Circuital branch average package is around 20LPA. Highest package is around 52LPA ( India ) and abroad touches 1cr and most of them placed on or off campus placement around 80% and some of them go for higher studies and some go into entrepreneurship.

Overview of NITK

Likes

Campus is very huge, beautiful and secure. Hostels are also well built and equipped with all required facilities.
Many opportunities are available like working under well established professors, technical and non technical clubs, sports, quality of education and even startup culture is appreciated and blooming.
Easy to build a good network with students as well as professors

Dislikes

Hostels have issues like water and power outages, hostel mess is below average.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for on campus placements from 7th semester. Average package for ECE is usually 21 LPA and highest can go upto 40 LPA. Students are eligible for on campus internship from 5th semester. Interns can be paid upto 1.77 lakhs per month. I am planning to work for a few years after completing my degree and then go for masters abroad.

Likes

Class timing is more convinent. And more free time is available
You are provided with free internet 24/7
You have private beach and nice surroundings

Dislikes

You need to maintain 75 ℅ attendance and must for endsem
Hostels are not so good the condition of fan is horrible

Placement Experience:

From 3 rd year you will get internships and from forth year you need to prepare for college placement Company like Mahindra, Tata motor, nvidia , and more And you are applicable for attending all code jobs.

Why to choose NITK?

Likes

The campus is really very beautiful like which college in whole India have its own private beach but our college do have it xd. The infrastructure is very good like you will get proper lighted classrooms and even the classrooms are fully furnished.
The course is very well prepared and even the curriculum is best. Teaching method is very good, the teachers are so cooperative and are highly qualified (ofcourse many of them are from iits). They are really passing about teaching and research. )
Lastly speaking about internship and placement, the placement and internship are very great in NITK , the course which they teach is completely enough for any placement and internship. Even you can do internships in research. It is the best college.

Dislikes

There are no such bad things about the college but one thing that may bother some people is the language barrier (if you are from north). It will take some time to adjust to the food(but it is far better than other colleges).
Common man you are in one of the top NITs there are no such rigid things which you can dislike about the college. It is the best place to spend your four years of graduation.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement opportunities are very great. There will be placement season on college in seventh semester. There are many companies including FAANG which come to college campus and provide a very great opportunity. The highest package was of 50 lpa and the average package of college is bout 15 lpa. Almost 90% of the students get placed every year. My plans are to get a good job after completing my degree.

The teachers are very knowledgeable and they teach us very well
Nature is also very good. We have beach also in the college premises.
Hostel maintenance, cleanliness, security staff all things are very good

Dislikes

Mess food is not goodb. It is below average
Fees is also very high. They take fees of one semester as 6 month but semester is completed in 3-4 months . And they not refund the left money.
Some buildings are too old without ac and speakers. Students can't hear teacher's voice well.

Placement Experience:

I am sharing about my branch that is geotechnical engineering. In my branch placement is about 100%. I am saying about because all of my seniors are placed but 2 of them get placement by their own. CDC department work very well .

The college was good with good number of teachers who taught us the most challenging subjects within a short time. Real time examples were given during the class hours which helped in the learning process. During the exams, these examples were useful
There is good scope to grow here and showcase your talent. Many industry leaders were brought here that provided a realtime glimpse of the current market trends and the skills that are required to accquire for the students on priority basis.
The placement is good here as most of the IT companies come here for the placements. Good trainings are provided by the plaement cell and opportunities are high as the band name of the college is good. Many companies come here and hire students.

Dislikes

Food of the mess could have been better and should have been more hygenic. North indian food options are limited. If you are late, you might miss the dinner in the late night. Also non veg counters are limited that leads to less number of items.
The bathrooms in the hotels could have been maintained better. Water scarcity is a problem during the hot summer days. If you are running late then you might miss your bath and toilet. Maintainane and strictness could have been better for students.
Hostel rooms specially for the boys could have been bigger and better. Some of the old hostels are very small and need ample space for breathing.

Placement Experience:

The companies has good scope for placements. Most of the IT companies come here to hire students. Companies like TCS, capgemni, accenture, EY, PWC, Deloitte and many more firms come here during the placement season. Monmst of them have an apti round post which there are technical and managerial rounds

Likes

The college environment is good for the study . Here you you will get so many opportunities to learn new things. You will make good friends circle. Who will be always there for you at any situation
Hear you can be part of so many different clubs. You can learn new things apart from study also you can follow you passion along with doing study
Hear you will able to enjoy so many technical and cultural fest which happens every years at the time of January and October. Also you will able to enjoy some celebrity moment on the fest

Dislikes

Only thing that I dislike was that hear even sem get shorter than the odd sem due to shortage of water at the time of summer

Placement Experience:

After 2nd sem student gets eligible for campus placement. In last sem Samsung ,Qualcomm , analog devices, Texas instruments, AMD,Marvel,ARM , Cdot so many companies visited for the placement, highest package was arround 35 lpa which is offered by analog devices, profile was analog engineer average package is near about 15-18 lpa . Till now 50-60 % student get placed . In 2022 the placement percentage was 80-90 % due to inflation the companies deceases recruitments . That's why now our college is allowing for 11 months internship that's why in our batch almost 60% student gets the internship offer which was less at the time of our seniors so may be this year placement percentage gets increased to 80-90 % .. my plan is simple just take the placement from the campus as 60% student already gets the internship so there will be less completion so there will be more chances to get the placement

Honest NITK MTech life.

College placement as compare to others is good
Apart from academic there is so many thning to enjoy, like fest sports
Some faculty are too good and some are not at good

Dislikes

Course curriculum is not that much updated only 2 3 subjects are relevant others simply waste of time
Weathere is too bad, too much temperature humidity and all
Hostel food is not good, actually veg mess food is not good at all

Placement Experience:

From 2nd semester we are eligible to get internships so along with so many students can get ppo. No of companies visited all are there in nitk website but placement is good. In my course highest placement is 10lac and lowest 4.5 and average 5-6lac In my course around 85-90% students get placed. I wanted to job in pharmaceutical companies

NIT Surathkal is one of the premium engineering colleges in India. It has an amazing faculty pool with top-notch infrastructure. Many big companies visit the campus for placements. The campus is huge with all basic amenities like hostels, health care centers, sports facilities, etc. Students are provided with 24/7 internet facility and also basic facilities like water and electricity.

The campus life is very dynamic with many technical and cultural events taking place on campus. Your peers are mainly people who couldn't make it to IITs but are very talented. Moreover, you get to experience the breathtaking view of the Arabian Sea.
