Placements are very good but as recession is hurting every job there is the placements have fallen down a bit.
The campus life is quite bad compared to other indian institute of technology because the infrastructure is quite old and bad here and appears dull tbh.
Mess food is also stupid bad, its affordable, at only 15k per semester, but the quality is really bad.

Campus is very very beautiful .You will love it
Faculty is good and excellent teaching methodolgy
Placements is what matters in the end and it is very good

Dislikes

Infrastructure not up to date so it needs to be updated
Open campus so not so safe at nights for girls and boys
The course is usually very hectic and there are too many labs.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are available for 4 yr students.Many companies like Goldman Sachs,Google, Microsoft etc arrive.Highest package is 1.68 Cr international and average package is around 30lpa.Percentage is usually 80%.plans is to do my job soncerely

My thoughts about IIT BHU

Likes

I like the campus, the vastness and the greenery is really amazing. Plus just out of the campus, theres market for buying items as well as eating outside
The students Community is also one of the good thinsg about the college as most of the things are managed by the students itself
The Fest of the college are really big and have had a number of great artists perform here. The footfall of fests are usually 1lacs.

Dislikes

Infrastructure is poor quality and some of the old departments havent been renovated in a long time.
Hostels have triple seat accomodations with small rooms like aryabhatta which feel really congested
The water quality of the hostels is really poor. Drinkable water will eventually get you throat aches.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are on par with the tag of IIT, recently there has been decrement is avg placement and no. of students placed. Students get eligible for placements 7th sem onwards and they can also get PPO after their internships.

Campus placement are good with nearly 70-80 of students placed and these numbers are even Higher in circuital branches. Campus placement starts in first week of December. Highest package is 1.68 crore and minimum is 7 lpa. More than 200 companies visit campus and more than thousand students are placed.I am planning for campus placement.

The Magnificent College

The Cultural fest Kashiyatra is too awesome many celebrities come it is a 3 day event students from various colleges come here making it a grand event
The teachers and the class room makes a perfect environment for studying in my course.
There is a dedicated club for UPSC if anyone needs to go for Civil Services .

Dislikes

The campus of IIT BHU is an open campus making the road traffic very hectic .
The security of students in campus is not upto mark

Placement Experience:

For B.Tech students became accessible from 7 th semester onwards.On campus placement is offered who have a minimum criteria of CPI. Many companies come in IIT BHU including Microsoft,Google,etc .Last year 989 offers were made .The highest package was 1.68 cr and average was 22 lakhs. Around 80 percent are placed.

My Life at IIT (BHU)

The culture of Clubs and Cells is pretty good and you can learn whatever you want to.
Amazing college fests with popular artists visiting in every fest
Amazing college Placements with highest record of 1.7 CR per year

Dislikes

Disappointed by the food quality and some of the hostel facilities also
Infrastructure is not too good as compared to what other IITs get, lack of Air conditioning in classes
There is lack of security in campus because it is an open campus and anyone from outside can visit the campus anytime

Placement Experience:

College Placements are pretty good. They are in comparison with IIT BOMBAY. From several years we have a 100% placement rate and an average package of 22 LPA. But in some lower branches such as Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Ceramic, Industrial Chemistry, Pharmaceutical, Biochemical , Biomedical placement opportunities are less as compared to branches such as CSE Electrical Mathematics and Computing and Electronics

IIT BHU - a glimpse

I like the college campus and its soothing environment
Varanasi is a beautiful holy place to explore. You can always find foreigners while wandering on the ghats.
The vibe of the place , the beauty of mechanical engineering, practical experience on machines and labs are enriching.

Dislikes

Some proffesors which are way too strict in our department
Hectic college schedule sometimes , end semester exams after a day of Diwali
It is an open campus, being unsafe at night and crowded at other times.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placements in the beginning of 7th semester. The on campus placements begins in the break after 7th semester ( starts from December) . From recent placement stats , there are about 1000 offers from about 300 different companies including some very prestigious ones like Goldman Sachs , Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Uber, Oracle , De Shaw , Sprinklr , Bajaj and many more. There were about 12 international offers . Highest domestic package was 1.68 cr . CTC package domestically started from 7 lpa , while average international package was around 45 to 77 lpa. Almost 85 percent of the batch got placed. My plans after this degree is non core sector, that is I will try for tech companies.

Campus life is superb here and this college campus which is largest in india
This college faculty is well known and they are also giving us moral education for our life
This college infrastructure is moderate and course are superb

Dislikes

Nothing to dislike in this college from my side

Placement Experience:

After seventh semester students are become eligible for campus placement approx 700 company comes in college and approx 1500 offers made the highest pakage is 1.2 crore CTC and average pakage is 21 lpa and approx 90 percentage students are placed after getting degree I want to become software Engineer

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is good but some things can be improved like introducing robotics and mechatronics very early in the course. The curriculum though actually covers the. But alot later. Teaching methods can be improved for sure like the courses can be reduced and comprehensiveness increased The difficulty of test in my course is fine in some courses and difficult in others.

IIT BHU: An overview by Yash

The campus life is quite good because there are various activities and clubs.
The hostel is very good it is like a flat.
Friends of course. They are the most important thing in the college life

Dislikes

The campus is open so the roads are full of vehicles.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for the placement in the year of graduation means 4th year for B. Tech. students and 5th year for IDD students. There are various companies that visit to my college like J. P. Morgan, Microsoft, Accenture, Uber etc and the average package is approx 18LPA which is second highest among IITs. The placement rate is quite good as 97% students gets placed. I am also planning to get placed in an IT company after getting my degree

IIT (BHU) Varanasi, from a Sophmore's POV

The events that are organised are great.
The place of Varanasi is a really spiritual place.
The new Student Activity center is amazing.

Dislikes

Its an OPEN CAMPUS, so there is a lot of traffic on college roads
Other students from BHU, provoke and pick fights often

Placement Experience:

7th semester onwards, placement takes place, and a lot of great companies visit, like Microsoft, JPMC, Amazon, Flipkart, and more. A lot of offers were made, and a decent number were placed. I plan on becoming software engineering, and getting placed on campus into one of the big companies

What are the views of IIT-BHU students about Kashi Utkarsh?

My friend is an alumnus of IIT-BHU and he was a member of the Kashi Utkarsh too. He claims the organization is doing really well in eradicating the prevalent social constraints through the collective efforts of the group. The body convinces the financially weak families living in Varanasi slums to send their children to schools with the help of KU funding.

As easy as this may sound, the actual process is very tiring. The families are hell-bent against education and persuading them is a big task. The relentless efforts of the team members of KU and their compassion to serve the weak have brought massive changes in society.

However, some students of the institute don’t give KU the respect they deserve and are not ready to spend a single penny claiming that KU pockets the funds themselves.

If you visit the social media handles of the KU members, you will find a list of children who get into the formal education system along with their school fees being paid by KU. Dictionary the constant assistance from professors like Prof. Ashim Mukherjee with KU helps KU stay strong.

What are the changes that took place in the college after IT-BHU got converted into IIT BHU?

My friend was a student at IIT BHU and he witnessed a number of changes as the IT BHU got converted into IIT BHU.

The Vishwakarma hostel became a 3 storied building
Kashi yatra, the annual socio-cultural festival of IIT(BHU) Varanasi stayed open till 10.
The grading system first changed to absolute from relative and then finally back to relative grading.
Mid-semester tests were introduced in place of class tests.
One of the sandwich shops became a complete multi-storied restaurant.
The Chemical Engineering department was updated in many ways.
The students were no longer allotted single rooms.
The campus facilities were improved including the Internet connections.
The 90 % attendance rule was introduced.
The institute got 3 new directors.

These were some of the changes my friend witnessed after the IT BHU got transformed into IIT BHU.

My review of IIT BHU will be based on some very common parameters.

Infrastructure: The academic buildings are not air-conditioned and are equipped with obsolete instruments. The hostels are surrounded by natural beauty but the living conditions are pathetic with cramped rooms and dirty toilets. The poor LAN connections are a major major problem here.
Faculty: The faculty again is very disappointing. some even lack basic knowledge and some are too arrogant to guide the students. The answer sheets are checked in a disorganized way and the pedagogy adopted is old school. So here, you will have to completely depend on self-study.
Research: The majority of the faculty focuses on administrative tasks and fails to encourage students to research work. The institute has no globally recognized research work to date.
Facilities: The library has poorly organized books and lacks good study material. The LAN network is another major issue faced by students here. The departments are closed by 6 ok and the library is locked by 10 pm. This is a major hindrance during exams.
Campus life: The frequent student activities make the campus life of IIT BHU lively and dynamic. A number of activities are organized in IIT-Gymkhana by the students and Kashi Yatra is the annual cultural festival of the institute. There are amazing sports facilities like huge grounds and fields for Cricket, Football, Badminton, and Tennis.
Placements: IIT BHU has one of the best placements among the top IITs. Currently, IIT Bhu Placements 2023 is being held and around 474 offers and 305 PPOs have been made. IIT BHU's highest CTC was recorded at INR 1.2 CPA. A total of 117 recruiters took part in IIT BHU Placements 2023. Top recruiters included Airbnb India, Uber, Microsoft, Accenture, Piramal, etc. Last year the highest CTC stood at INR 2.05 CPA which was offered by UBER.

Overall, IIT BHU is a great choice if you are willing to sacrifice the hostel conditions and self-study.

Pharmaceutical Society and Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology, IIT (BHU) organize the Nation's largest pharmaceutical fest-SPIRIT.

SPIRIT is an annual fest of pharmaceutical engineering & Tech. branch of IIT(BHU). It is a national level event where pass out students can also participate. Pharma and medical enthusiasts from the country come together in this two-day fest to encapture new ideas and innovations to bring out the best of the participants. There are many competitions where you can compete to share and gain knowledge and ideas. Workshops and seminars are also organized. IIT(BHU) is the only IIT having a pharma branch, that's why it is the best college of pharma. The Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology, IIT (BHU) was established in 1932.
