Likes

Faculties are good they have good knowledge and provides excellent teaching to every student.
The annual day celebration is very good, time to time fest gives us the opportunity to show our talent to the university.
All details regarding admission is there on the university website .there are reservation benefits provided for different sections of society like sc st obc etc.

Dislikes

The washrooms around the building in the Campus are broken and not functional enough. The food quality in mess is also a little poor
In summers when the classes end and theere is gap between 2 classes the gatekeepers in building closes the classes and students have to suffer in the hot environment and climate which is not good
There is no conveyance facility available . The college does not provide for bus facilities so it becomes difficult for students who come form afar to opt for this uni

Is Doon University worth it?

Likes

In my department as there are less number of students, each student gets personal attention from the faculty which is much needed in a language course.
Campus is really beautiful with guards everywhere for safety. Outsiders are not allowed to enter without showing their IDs.
Some small scale events and programs are held time to time in which students can participate or even go as an audiance .

Dislikes

Repetition of same days. We have a certain mindset towards Universities that it will be fun but in this university you have to study and gain a good cgpa.
Due to recent addition of NEP policy many things are disorganised and mismanaged.

Placement Experience:

I won't say that there is 100 percent placement. It mainly depends upon the student. Many companies come for placements and students do get placed. Last year there was amazon who gave a package of 6lpa and highest 13.9lpa was given by Accenture. But all the students did prepare accordingly and their capabilities were a major role.

My college life at Doon University

Likes

The faculty is one of the most qualified faculty as they all are from JNU which is India's best university for French Languages
The teaching methods are also innovative and amazing and easy to understand.

Dislikes

Sometimes procedures related to fees take a lot of time because it is a government institution.

Placement Experience:

We had Amazon, Wipro and Accenture last year for Campus placements. The highest package was of 13 lakhs PA and the average package was of 6 lakhs PA My plans after getting the degree is to opt for a corporate job.

Life in doon

Likes

I liked about doon university is that they proper studying environment
The engagement with others are very good...everyone including seniors are very helpfull
Faculties are very talented and well qualified. All classrooms have smart board with proper technology

Dislikes

I disliked about this university their management system
Outside road of university is very ruined
Sometime classes are not according to the given timetable

Placement Experience:

The placement offered by our college is different for different courses. Highest package last academic year was about 25Lkh per annum and the median packages life between 5 tk 6 lakh per annum. The companies which visited our university were amazon , mercer , hcl technologies, icici bank and itc technologies. Almost 80 students got placed last year

Doon University

The campus life in Doon University is very tranquil as well as beautiful. the campus is surrounded by lush greenery and is very safe in every terms.
Faculty here in Doon University is very helpful and available 24/7 for students as my of the professor even lie in university campus. They are also easily approachable.
The structure of university not just focuses on academic but overall development of a student as there are many other clubs here including cultural,sports social services and many more.

Dislikes

The cafeteria and the quality as well as variety of food could be one issue that needs a bit of improvement as a lot of day scholars come from a way across so that would be helpful.
The internship's quality could be improved as well as there are some departments which do not get intership opportunities they can be given good exposure as well.
The transport facility to our university is not quite convenient as students have to walk at least 2 km from city bus stand,those who come from public transport so that is one facility which can be provided.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of our university has been quite busy in recent years. Decent amount of companies are now coming to visit us . The local brands of dehradun also come to our university namely Decathlon marts taking management students. According to a recent report 75 to 80 pg students were placed last year in 2023. And the companies were Amazon, HCL technologies , ICICI Bank , Mercer, ITC limited Wipro etc. The average packages were 5 to 6 lakh per annum.

An honest review

Likes

Infrastructure of buildings from outside.
I like Greenery in my college which gives positive vibe.
Professors are friendly , helpful and available for students anytime.

Dislikes

Condition of furniture eg. Chair , table in classrooms.
Lack of seriousness among faculty members.
Sudden change in time schedule of the classes.

Placement Experience:

There are campus placements in our college. Companies like amazon , Accenture , etc gives job opportunity. Off campus employability is actually better than the on-campus placements and percentage of students getting placement is a average.

Doon University Campus honest review

Likes

The central library is a well built building with a really good collection of books from vast genres
It is a safe space for women and LGBTQ+. The freedom that we get in compared to other places is better and we don't get judged for the way that we dress
We don't have a fix uniform that provides everyone to wear whatever they want

Dislikes

The placement rates are low, less than 20% get placement from a class
The washrooms around the building in the Campus are broken and not functional enough. The food quality in mess is also a little poor
The timing for girls hostel in time is around 9.30(strictly) whereas the boys hostel as no in time and can roam freely till they wish to

Placement Experience:

The college rarely provides placement. The last year placement was out of 23 students from the previous batch only 3 got placed in Accenture for a package of around 14 LPA AND 1 got placed in Amazon for a package of around 6 LPA. Few others got placed somewhere but most are not employed yet. The other possible option could be masters if not employed

Real life in Doon university

Likes

Campus is very beautiful, peaceful and provides all facilities
University is near mountains. So, temperature is very good in all seasons
Hostel life is the best thing we acan say, mess food is also good

Dislikes

Sports is not that good, university not provide anything
Teachers are good but they’re temporary and changed time to time
Girls almost twice as boys in University so , only one boys hostel we have in the University

Placement Experience:

After 5 semester, students are become eligible for campus placements. Companies like amazon, accenture decathlon etc Around 5 students get placed per language Other placed in low income companies. Highest package- 13.92 laks Average package- 4.6 laks I tryy best to get selected in good MNC

Likes

Aspects that i like the most is academic program, faculty expertise, and support and infrastructure and the aspects i don't like is outdated and inappropriate facilities
Participating in extracurricular activities
Volunteering for community service projects

Dislikes

Limited opportunity for socialization and campus involvement leads to isolation
Insufficient support for people with disabilities
Exclusively can create an unwelcoming environment for some students

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum have coverage of fundamental concepts and advanced training, and has an interdisciplinary connections and electives. It provide us with practical skills and hand-on experience. They provide us with the opportunity to present our researchers , project, ideas and presentation.

Doon university from my eyes

Likes

I love hostel and hostel life, freedom and liberty for girls and the surrounding and atmosphere. Little to no fights, peace, etc
Girls can wear whatever they want in the college and nobody judges them, not even teachers.
Full of trees and plants and we can see mountains from all sides

Dislikes

Placements are not that good. This college is descent only for Chinese and Japanese department
Washrooms are very unhygienic and dirty. We feel nauseated

Placement Experience:

6th semester is when placements start but campus placements are only available for Language courses, no other course in this university has any scope. Amazon, accenture and shipra travels visit here and hire less than 5-6 per company. Highest for 1300000 per annum, lowest was 400000 per annum. Less than 10% got placed

Likes

The environment of college is very calm the staff and faculty of college is very cooperative and helpful
The building and the management of everything
Plants and trees in the campus are very well maintained and raken care properly

Dislikes

Wifi is not working many times which is a problem
There are dogs in University sometimes they get aggressive and bite some students
The cafeteria is not good after the tender has been changed

Placement Experience:

3rd yr students get the chance to sit in placement Companies like vipro, Amazon, decathlon etc visit our university during placement Highest packages are 50 lakh to 80 lakhs per annum Percentage of students getting placement is 80 to 85. My plans are of masters in my field
