IIT Roorkee BS + MS Chemistry: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

IIT Roorkee boasts a nearly 100% placement rate, with 2021 seeing 1,200 job offers extended to 960 students. Students received impressive salary packages, with the highest international offer at 2.5 crore INR and the highest domestic at 1.8 crore INR. Eleven students secured packages over 1 crore INR. Major recruiters include Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Goldman Sachs, and Adobe. Students are eligible for placements from their 3rd semester and can pursue internships from their 3rd or 4th year.

Internships offer stipends between 30,000 to 80,000 INR per month. The tuition fee is approximately Rs. 270,000 annually, with several scholarships and fee waivers available. Families earning below Rs. 1 lakh per annum are fully exempt from the Rs. 100,000 tuition fee, while those earning between Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 5 lakh receive a two-thirds reduction. SC/ST students do not pay tuition fees, and OBC-NCL and General EWS students with family incomes between Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 5 lakh also benefit from a two-thirds reduction.

The MCM scholarship is available for students with a CGPA above 7, who are in the top 25% of their branch. An interest-free education loan for tuition and laptop purchases is also available, repayable after graduation. Despite a decline in internships post-COVID-19, placements remain robust, with average job packages ranging from Rs. 10 to Rs. 15 lakh. The estimated total cost of a 4-year program is around Rs. 4 lakh, considering scholarships, while a 5-year integrated course costs approximately Rs. 1,200,000 without financial concessions.
