Overview of University of North Bengal

Likes

The environment, it's filled with Greeneries so it's quite cool during peak summers inside the campus compared to the outside.
There is no ragging in the campus of University of North Bengal.
Foods/ snacks being sold in the university campus is really cheap and affordable.

Dislikes

The Buildings are really old and the infrastructure needs to be changed.
Still haven't adapted to the new and modern method of teaching that should be done in masters level compared to other universities
Due to Bengali majority the staffs are quite rude and oversmart.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well I was in class 8 when I opted for Economics, and I had to drop Computer for that.... Since then I just fell in love with my subject. Economics is a subject where you not just have to learn things but understand it's mechanics to solve the real world problems such as poverty, unemployment, inflation etc.... the frequency and timing of exams in my department is in an interval of 6 months which is quite good I would say!

Things to know before deciding to join salesian college siliguri,sonada.

Likes

The college Compound was very vast and good
Lots of students were there to be friends with and who would support you
The faculty members were very nice and welcoming

Dislikes

The college was very strict just like schools
The timing of the college was very strict and the gate would be completely closed after 8:40
The principal was very strict with some conducts in the college campus

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had taken up sociology in my +2 so I thought it would be easier if I took sociology andit was . Sociology teaches how people would perform in the society and how the society is build so it's easier for you to understand the world if you've taken up sociology. The exams are pretty easy as they only give confusing questions but the questions are easy if you understand them .

I like the mode of study which is distance in this college.
i like the practical classes which is extremly good in this college
i like the faculty members of the college

Dislikes

nothing to dislike. all are good.but may be the mood is distance but it also good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose BSc(Chemistry honours). Because i like study chemistry. this course is also desgine very good. This courses Curriculum prepares me for real-world applications or future academic puesuits. Adiovisual aid and digital classrom can be include for beter study in this course.

I the best thing i liked about this college are the professors and the faculty. The professors were helpfull and understanding. The office staff was also helpfull. The professors were very professional and experienced. They helped me a lot
The college location is best . The quality of the infrast. ructure is good like a normal gov college, we can't expect private college like designs. The college has a computer lab , a chemistry physics and biology lab , a library and a seminar hall .
The college also has smart , a canteen and other basic amenities. This is the only college in alipurduar with BCOM course. Social environment is good here and a friendly environment. Overall best college for both introverts and extroverts

Dislikes

The college infrastructure needs some development. The college needs more lights in the hallway otherwise it looks like a horror film set .
The college routine needs to be changed and the college need more bilingual teachers and stuff.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is essential to guide teachers in what to teach, how much depth of knowledge is needed for that grade, and a a timeline to follow so the year will be completed. I personally feel my course will help me lot in the near future as most of the population in this world speak English and it opens a wide variety of carrier options for me

The campus is filled with greenery with a nice view.It comprises if facilities like basketball court,badminton court,library,common room and well equipped labs
The college offers a variety of courses including self financed courses such as Microbiology,Geography,Mass Communication.
Hostel facility is also available.The college has numerous number of clubs which gives students opportunities to showcase their talent and work on their skills.

Dislikes

There is no parking facility available for students.
Due to the college being almost 40 years old,some parts of the campus need to be renovated
There is scarcity of water in the town as well as the college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course as I love wildlife and have always aspired to become a Divisional Forest Officer. The subject is full of scope if one chooses to study it.The practicals could have been more interesting considering the subject requires visual learning and practice as well.Exams are not tough to pass but very hard to ace.If one wants to maintain good score and get nice CGPA by the time of graduation they really need to focus on the theory part

Love and hate relationship with this college

Likes

The college campus, playground and location is very spacious
The college festivals organised by the college is worth attending for.
As it is a night college so it's very unique

Dislikes

Infrastructure is not upto the mark, there are no any washroom provided for boys.
The non teaching staff are very rude and don't know how to behave well

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being a B.com Hons in accountancy student i really thought this course will be helpful for me getting better knowledge about the business world but infact it left me confused. This might not be the case for everyone. The curriculum is pretty basic but if done from a great college will enhance it's further academic pursuits.

PD Women's College Very good in terms of our studies. Many times the teacher explains to us in a good way to understand what we are reading. Especially the principal of our college ma'am is very good and helps the students a lot

Dislikes

The worst aspect of our college is that food and water are not good here

The teachers are really helpful and well behaved.
Easy access to library books and could take them homebas well
The bus facility is really good. The driver and conductor both are friendly and understanding.

Dislikes

The college is quite far as compared to other colleges.
The ground grass needs to be trimmed and cut down
The college canteen should built an washroom there.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Geography is a good course with a wide scope of jobs after graduation. The teaching methods in this course are very easy. The practicals are always taught easily. There are light tables with different instruments rocks maps and other necessary item available.
