- i realy like the enviroment of this collage it very natural with regular cleaning, but the roads and side walks need improvement and the work is under way and probably will be finished in 3 to 4 months.
- social it is very healthy campus with very helpful and kind senior and zero raging just remember your intro after that all senior are like friends. the student which we are studying with all are very good and are hustling for their future almost 9\10
- all the teacherss and mentors are very helpful and well stablished and teach in a very good manner that students really like. they help in placement and advancing for the greater studies and research. the boys to girl ratio is 6 to 7:1
Dislikes
- enviroment outside the campus is very dirty and unhygenic with too much waste and people with low civic sense.
- the hostels are very old and mess food is kind of oof but they are improving and new hostels are building over all the infra is progressing
- in terms of sports and other activities their is very less scope but we are trying to improve it by engaging and building the clubs very well
Internships Opportunities:
their are many internship opportunities with stable stipend, i dont know the specific of internship yet but officially the collage mail about the internship and sinors take the responsibility to inform the juniors about the intertnships. the major projects start in the 4th year with the minor projects in the second and third year, ouutcome of this projects will decide how you will be placed in the placement.

- Our college is close to iconic places of Kolkata like the Howrah Bridge, Victoria Memorial and others.
- Our college is the largest in Howrah with an area of over 80 acres.
- Best placements after IITs for sure as our placements cell has been able to get the top firms at our college.
Dislikes
- Even though there are so many hostels but still staying off campus is more convenient and cheap too.
Internships Opportunities:
Google, Apple and likewise some companies send their circulars as IT engineers are what they need time to time. Requirements are often less but still those who deserve get such opportunities from our campus.

- Teaching faculty here are more experienced and they can teach you in depth.will get you good internships and This college helps you more if you have interest in research field.professors of mechanical department are good and well help you in research

Students on their special interests gets internships.tgey have to maintain good cgpa to enroll for internships.also students can get their internship by referrals and contacts they have among students and seniors and professors

- there are security gards all over the college to help you, clean and nature involved campus.
- loved the seniors, they are very friendly
- like the trees and the location of he campus
Dislikes
- electrical department is a bit tough and difficult to study
- the campus is not too much big considered to other campuses but decent size
- 6 months internship is bit difficult to get
Placement Experience:
students are eligible for placements from the 4th year oy 7th semester and companies like google , microsoft , apple, wipro, tcs , adobe visits here.
highest placement is about 2 cr which is off campus and lowest is about 3.5 lpa which is in tcs ninja i guess.
about 89% of students gets placed in my cse department and i am going to take placement after my college get over .

- I really liked the greenery in my college.It has a lot of trees which will be pollution free with fresh air.
- The availability of shops and stores are just outside the campus,which make us easy to get the things we want.
- It is near to Kolkata, and it is easy to catch the flight also abot 1 km to railway station.
Dislikes
- As I am from South India it is somewhat tough to adjust to food,but its good to adjust.
- Campus is very clean but outside the campus the roads not maintained.
Internships Opportunities:
Many big companies offer internship opportunities for students in our college like Tata Power ,Infosys, Jio, Texas etc. Many roles are offerd to the students according to their skills. As I am still first year student I don't have a lot of knowledge about these.

- All facilities are available like ATM,XEROX,BANKS,POST OFFICE,RAILWAY STATION etc.
- Decent placements with good research opportunities
- So many events will be conducted.Entire campus is very clean and neat.
Dislikes
- very old buildings in the college,girls to boys ratio is very less.
- Dumping of waste just outside the campus.
- Too much verification process during admission even after josaa verification.

- The campus is very green and clean. You wouldn't feel the kolkata heat much because the campus lies along the bank of river Ganges.
- Hostel is spacious. Although being 4 sharing in first and second year the room is quite spacious and another perk is that you would make friends easily. Hostel life at IIEST is crazy fun.
- The community is nice. Everyone is friendly and you will make good friends and the environment is good and not toxic.
Dislikes
- Because of the greenery mosquitos and other insects will also be roommates to you.
- Because of so much friendship in the hostel you may find small stuff (like scissors, tape, glue stick, pen etc.) missing from your table. (Someone takes them without informing you and forgets to return)
- Seniors may be annoying at first but become cazz as the time passes and you spend more time with them.
Internships Opportunities:
Internships are easy to get because of the alumni network. The alumni association is very strong since it's working since 1856. You can also get in touch with the alumni through the professors. You will enjoy doing projects at IIEST

- Little bit improvement is needed in hostels
- Food can be improved. Water needs very much improvement
- Campus is good but needs some infrastructure improvement

Internship opportunities are available for the students but only for those students who are skilled. You will to do hard work and improve your skills so that you get an internship opportunities. Our new director is working on this area so that internship is available for everyone.

- The teachers are well educated and they can explain all type of doubts. Aside for the teachers, we also have a library where we can find everything we need.
- College life is good. There are all sort of activities you can do and the ambience is also good.
- The seniors are very helpful. We are provided with every all the materials before hand.
Dislikes
- The teachers usually cannot speak English properly. They sometimes start explaining in Bengali and then the non-Bengali students don't understand anything.
- The infrastructures are a bit old but they are renovating some buildings.
- There is no proper basketball court and very less space for badminton players.
Internships Opportunities:
The are a lot of companies that visit this college and give internships with stipend. For example, Amazon, Google, Aditya Birla Group, etc.
There are many projects given to the students to understand their ability and if they are qualified enough.

- Hostel facility is not that much good and the food provided is also not good
- Placement is also decent not that good as you expect from this college

There is great internship opportunity here starting from second year . College provide research facilities also under different IITs and internship program under different companies. College help you in every way during internship season

Which is better NIT Jamsedhpur, NIT Raipur, NIT K,NIT Hamirpur, NIT Durgapur, NIT Jalandhar, DTU, NSIT or IIEST Shibpur??

There is nothing called a better college. One college can be good for you but bad for others. Similarly a college can be bad for someone else but perfect for you. Every college has its own flaws. So it depends on how much you are willing to overlook and get the best results.
Still if I have to make a choice among the above colleges, I will go for NIT Hamirpur. The peaceful ambiance and beautiful infrastructure is worth it.

In terms of NIRF ranking, IIEST is better than NIT-D by having 17th rank against 24th of NIT-D, however in terms of ROI, NIT-D is a better college with avg package of INT 15 lpa against that of INR 6 lpa of IIEST, however the fee structure for both of them is more or less same. However, in terms of research, IIEST Shibpur is a better college.
