Is VIT worth it

The hostel facility is very good in VIT chennai. There are both AC and Non AC rooms you can choose. There are four options 2 bed, 3 bed, 4 bed and 6 bed rooms. There are four types of mess in the hostel veg, non veg, special and food park. The food is very good and if don't like food from one catering you can choose another.

The hostel fee is based on the choice of the room, the most easily gettable room would cost like 2lakhs a year including the mess charges. there are also local pgs and other stay locations outsite the campus

Vit is genuinely a very good college but it needs to inprove a little bit in terms of strictness freedom etc snd rules s

Hostle facilities are excellent including food lifts cleanliness etc there is no need to change in this but if hostel could keep the nightmess open till 3 or 4 am it would be better because a lot of students are usually hungry at that time

CSE AT VIT CHENNAI

I have chosen to stay in a hostel for which it costed around 1,25,000 since I had chosen four bed AC. There are various options from one bed to 2 bed, to 4 bed, to 6 bed, having AC and non-AC facilities. each student will be provided a desk and a total switchboard and a 7 foot standing cupboard.

Limit on going outside hostel after 9 pm.

Hostel is really good you have many options ranging form 2,4,6 bed ac and non ac hostels. You have many type of mess from veg mess non veg mess special mess and food park. Food is good you can survive in hostel.

Insights on VIT Chennai campus

Has all sports facilities, like lawn tennis court, basketball court, table tennis tables, cricket/football courts, volleyball court, badminton court. Both inside and outside hostel at that.

Overall college is very strict. 75% attendance is very very strictly implemented and so are all other rules. Hostel wardens and teachers, everyone is strict. Restrictions in clothing, outings and leaves are also seen here.

Rooms are just fine. Some rooms are good, but some like 6 bedded or 3 bedded ones are very congested. You have option of ac or non ac. For our menu, we have large variety of items daily and it is different. For example, on monday veg breakfast we have aloo paratha with curd, dosa sambhar chutney, bread jam, milk and tea. For lunch we have plain rice, chapatti, pulao, some sabji, paneer, dal, curd, lemon juice. For dinner we have plain rice, chapatti, pulao, some curry, dal, buttermilk, fruit salad, milk. We also have snacks daily which consist of samosas, dahi vada, vada pav, Sandwich, pasta, chowmin, papdi chat and more. Although the menu is huge, sometimes the quality of food can lack. But all in all it is good enough. Non veg menu has egg everyday as breakfast and chicken 3 times a week. You register for hostel during admission only. And you have to be fast in picking your hostel bed type because it gets full in literally seconds. So do it as soon as the window opens. As for price, it is pretty high compared to many colleges. Hostel and mess fees also keeps increasing about 16% each year.

Experience in VIT Chennai

The hostel facilities are much better in VIT . There are my types of rooms provided to students like 2 bed AC, 2 bed Non AC, 3bed Ac, 3bed Non AC and like this upto 6bed. The rooms are well furnished and maintained. Their are three options for mess also Veg, Non veg and special. The quality of the food provided in the mess is not that much good. The registration for first year is done before coming to college. From second year the registration is done on the basis of the ranks provided to students according to their CGPA.

in rooms a 2000 rs crompton hanging fan for 3-6 bed rooms for ac just a normal ac which is operable from evening 6 to morning 6 not in the day time except saturdays and sundays incampus hostels mess is average eatable food
