Likes

the environment in this college is good and trees are the thing which i like the most
synthetic badminton court and basketball indoor court are some of the facilities which i liked it
The infrastructure is awesome and it comprises of 3 academic blocks for classes

Dislikes

Hostel Mess food should be improved as it not up to the mark
cleanliness quality of hostel need to improved as there are lot's of dirty surrounding us
rooms cleaning should be done in order to stay hygenic

Internships Opportunities:

Our Shiv Nadar Univeersity chennai college provides students with variety of internship opportunities to students to engage with job experience and get awared of the surroundings is it going to be in the future for job.. HCL companed owned by shiv nadar provide internships to students,also paypal,mahindra some big companies come to our college to provide internships opportunities to students..They offer roles to the students based on the skills students have and the roles students are interested in

I like the campus infrastructure,talented faculty,full green campus,Good campus students interaction with other students,and all the students are merit students.
All the faculty are IIT graduates, highly talented and served country in some fields.Mentorship quality is not so good but ok when compared to other colleges.
Infrastructure is very nice and placements are also very good.For career development the support is provided and friendly professors.Course curriculum is very vigorrous and effective to present industry market

Dislikes

I disliked the hostel management and hostel cleaning because they are not doing good.
Mess food also not so good,quality of food is ok but i think they have to do better than that.
Events are less and course is stressful to students.They want to improve this.

Internships Opportunities:

There are many internship opurtunities available in the university. All the students participated in the internships and completed the internships. Companis like microsoft, google, amazon offered internships with stipend. Projects are done in fourth year and are very tough if we complete that projects placemets are 100%.

FACTS ABOUT SNU CHENNAI

Likes

The campus has been maintained very properly. They have made sure that we get all the facilities inside the campus itself
Faculties are very supportive and helpful you with any problem. The methods that they use to teach can be understood easily
We have all the facilities with respect to sports including a huge cricket stadium and an indoor badminton and basketball courts

Dislikes

It is away from the city making certain things difficult to access
Time taken to reach the city is too much .

Internships Opportunities:

Many companies have come to provide internship like BNY ,PAYPAL . BNY had provided a stipend of 75k . Due to the excellent curriculum we will have to do a project each semester which helps us a lot in respect to increase our knowledge and it adds ok to our resume

SNU Chennai Uncovered: Exceptional Academics, Dynamic Campus Life and a Room to grow

Likes

Shiv Nadar University has a good campus life, and a vibrant rich landscape with lush greenery.
People in SNUC have a very good charisma and are very friendly, students hangout and interact with each other a lot.
All the faculties are very chill and friendly, they teach in a way that every student in class can relate and understand.

Dislikes

I find it tiring to travel all the way to my block as the campus has spread across 250 acres
Being a dayscholar and travelling all the way from my home to college that is situated at the outskirts of Chennai.
Canteen food is good, but price keeps increasing every semester which students find it a little tough

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester students become eligible to sit for placements, companies that come for placements select students for internship positions and later its the students ability to bag a Pre Placement Offer which guarantees a job offer. As of now Motorq, Atlassian, WWT, Citi are the companies visited and other FAANG companies are expected in the future. As of now the highest package is 1 crore per anum, average package ranges from 12-15 lpa. 70% of the students of final years have already been placed

Life at snu

Likes

Infrastructure: amazing infrastructure and environment to learn in
Holistic development: not just academics, they focus on co curricular, and other activities as well
Faculty: research and development mindset

Dislikes

Hostel conditions: could be way better than the current

Internships Opportunities:

Intern companies that come over are diverse and offer good opportunities. Companies like kla, citi, fidelity, motorq, etc. PPO conversion rate is also decent for these companies. Pay is decent for the opportunities offered

Pros and cons of SNU

Likes

Very big and beautiful campus lot of new things to explore
They do not have many rules here and its a very free and easygoing campus . People are allowed to do anything outside the classrooms
Good reputation if we get graduation here though we don’t get a highly paid work just after ug but if we did our masters too our value is higher. As snu is a part of HCL group

Dislikes

It’s mandatory to choose bus for day scholars and no private vehicles are allowed inside the campus and the bus fees are very high and its a fixed amount regardless of the distance
The fees structure is very high and its not worth to pay so much just for a ug course as the placement will also not be that good
Very few people study here and the strength is very small so socialising is difficult and we do not get many contacts

Internships Opportunities:

The internship in our college is after 2nd year so i am not sure about this yet as i will come to know abouth this but the end of the year But as our college is a part HCL i heard we have decent placements with normal salaries And they also have some paid internships too So i will give a 7 after considering all these

SNUC - A fresh and modern place to learn

Likes

The campus is terrific, it's very very green and the sports facilities are really good. We have an indoor basketball court, indoor badminton court, squash, table tennis, etc. There is a lot of free space to walk and it's not crowded at all.
The infrastructure is really good. We have recently been moved into a new block that is fully air conditioned and has centralized AC in all the classrooms and has smart TVs in all classrooms. The library is very useful too.
The curriculum is one of the best and advanced. We are being taught all the basics and core subjects that are useful to us from the get go. This helps us focus on our major and gives us more time to excel at it.

Dislikes

The college has very few students while that is a good thing it is also a bad thing as there's not a lot of crowd to mingle and interact with.
The placement cell is one major drawback. As the college is fairly new and hasn't been fully established yet the placement cell too isn't properly set so there's an uncertainty in that aspect.
The college also isn't able to provide it's students with the best internship opportunities yet. There are very few companies that have come and picked out very few students for their internships.

Internships Opportunities:

My college doesn't provide very good opportunities for internships. Very few companies have come as it is a very new college. The only companies that have come are HCL and MotorQ. However, motorq took 3-4 students for internship for around 80k stipend and also offered a ppo to 2 of them for 1cr. This will be the first year for the college to establish a placement cell and for the first batch of my college to graduate.

From academics to campus culture:A detailed Review of Shiv Nadar University, Chennai.

Likes

The first I like about my college is the atmosphere here. It is all filled with greenary
The infrastructure is awesome.. All our classrooms are well designed amd equiped.
The thing is the faculty here... Almost everyone is one reputed institutions.

Dislikes

Hostels are okay but.. Sometimes thet are not well maintained.. But considering the fee they are far better.
Mess food is good but it is sometimes boring
I addressed only these two issues and rest everything is fine

Internships Opportunities:

Coming to the internships many high paying companies like motarq and paypal offered internships this year. Roles they offered are mostly Sre roles and roles related to data science. The palcements here are decent. I think the situation will get better in the comiy years.

All u need to know about SNU Chennai

Likes

The infrastructure and the population is less in our college. Our college is newly established so we are receiving more opportunities to participate in fests and clubs. The seniors are nice very helpful and kind
This is the 4th year since our college opened so we are having a lot of exposure and fresh ideas.
Some of our faculties are very helpful and try their best to make our learning nice

Dislikes

We have a college called ssn that we are associated with which makes me feel that we don't have that freedom
The hostel is not that nice when compared with others and there are monkeys
Some of the faculty are not well experienced which makes it a little difficult for us to learn

Internships Opportunities:

We have people who have gotten internships in motor Q and paypal. Since our college is new we are having comparatively less placements and job opportunities that our college is giving us. Hcl also provides internships yo our college.

Life at SNUC

Likes

The campus is very beautiful and huge. It's very peaceful in the evening to walk around with friends. There are 3-4 canteens where you can find variety of foods for a decent price.There are many good Streets and restaurants nearby to hangout.
The sports infrastructure is great. Badminton courts are well maintained. Basketball court is huge. There is tennis court, volley ball court, squash, Table tennis area.
Teachers are easily approachable and very friendly. The course curriculum is decent. Regular assessments are conducted. Labs are well maintained. The girl boy ratio is very decent compared to other colleges.

Dislikes

There is a curfew for boys and girls. Girls intime is 8:30pm and boys intime is 10pm.

Internships Opportunities:

People have received internship opportunities from Motorq, paypal, HCL and many other companies. Motorq offered a whopping 1cr package and other companies also offered decent stipends.Since the placements for the first batch hasn't taken place yet as the college started in 2021, the placements details are not clear yet but the internships are going well with the number of applicants appearing for the entrance exam increasing every year.
