Dyal Singh College: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 30 Reviews

In 2014, Delhi University admissions faced delays, but the applicant secured a spot in the B.A. Programme at Dyal Singh College, thanks to a low cut-off. The process involved form submission, waiting for cut-off lists, and completing formalities at the college with online fee payment. The college's faculty is mixed, with some being highly knowledgeable, while others are criticized for absenteeism and high student-to-teacher ratios. Despite challenges, the faculty is generally qualified, cooperative, and supportive, particularly in Science, Commerce, and Arts.

Assignments and exams are regular and moderately challenging. Fees are collected twice a year, ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 18,000, deemed reasonable with provisions for concessions. Placement efforts are rated 3.8, with companies like Infosys and Amazon recruiting primarily from commerce and science disciplines. The average salary package is 3 lakh per annum, with the highest at 35 lakh. About 30 students secure roles annually, with internships available from the 2nd semester.

The college offers scholarships based on merit, minority status, sports, and family income, and facilitates access to external scholarships like the NSP. Although internal fee refunds are unreliable, the college supports students with on-campus jobs and placement cell activities. Overall, Dyal Singh College provides quality education and resources, contributing to its ranking among India's top 100 institutions.
