My college review

Likes

I like the alumni connection here. Since the college is very old it has good alumni connections which helped me alot in my college journey.
The seniors here are very supportive and the placement here is also good. apart from these things the basic facilities provided here are also good.
The campus is full of greenery and the campus area is very large which helps you spend your time and enjoy the college journey.

Dislikes

Fun events are oragnized vey less here. Events which can engage students from other colleges are conducted very less.
The infrastructure of the college is not so good. It has the same old building
The restrictions on girls like thier entry time and all are things which I dislike.

Placement Experience:

The placement of our college is very good. Companies like Tata Steel, Vedanta, JSW, JSL, Tata Power, Technip, ABG, Samsung, Deloitte, etc. come to our college. they give good offers and take a good amount of students. About 90% got placed in my branch. The highest package was of Vadeanta 13 LPA. My plan after my degree is to work in any company that is engaged in the energy sector.

My college i.e bit Sindri is the dream college of many students it provides beautiful campus with lots of facilities.The professor and faculty members are very supportive and helpful nature, they always motivate students and ready to help them always
The placement of our college is also very good and every year many students fullfill their dreams by graduating from here. Our college mainly focused on the skills development of students. As some of our college seniors has made a motorcycle as their
Project and they got the best project award of the year. Our college provide academic as well as sports knowledge to the students. The girls volleyball tournament held in ISM Dhanbad won the match. We has slogan that " bitian are second to none".

Dislikes

The pollution around our college leads to suffocation some time due to heavy use of vehicles which may cause lungs disease to many people around them.
Our college campus has no boundaries due to which many outsiders enter the college on a regular basis which is little bit unsafe for girls student of
Our college. Lots of cattle also enter the college which may be some time dangerous for the college students

Placement Experience:

In the 3rd year students are eligible for campus placements after clearing the interview and written exam of the particular company. The company like vedanta, Tata steel, Wipro etc. visited our campus. The highest package of our college is 12 lakh per annum and average package is 6 lakhs per annum. Now company required the students who has good knowledge of coding skills and as well as good academic excellence. Afte the completion of my degree I would go for higher studies.

BIT sindri Review

Likes

Library is very good and vast. Many books are available for every exams.
Infrastructure of the campus is also very good with nice plantation and canteens.
Nice experienced faculties with proper knowledge of every equipment and they teach also very good.

Dislikes

Placement cell has to work more on giving. Placement to students
There are many non operable equipments which needs to be repaired quickly
No cultural fests happen which makes a little boredom at college

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is based to make students an able engineers and so the pattern is good overall. By the study of engineering student gains a practical approach to solve all problems in their life and so this curriculum prepare the student for real world problems. Course needs to be more practical rather than theoretical. Exam timing and frequency is also good as it is semester wise.

Likes

250 acres of campus .Maximum area is covered with forest
Workshop facility and well equipped labs

Dislikes

Open campus due to village area due to which no cultural fest happens

Placement Experience:

Placements start from 7th semester almost 80% students get placed with core branches Placemnts for cse and it branch is not that much high because of recession the highest package is 50 lakh which is from ECE branch

BIT Sindri : Review

Being such an old institution it is even older than many IITs due to which it has a vast alumni connection with it's alumni working in various major companies throughout the world. The campus life is also interesting new hostels are also being made.
The placement scenario is also amazing. BIT Sindri is one among the few colleges nowadays where even the core branches get handsome packages. The circuital branches have various on campus opportunities to explore and the course curriculum is strict.

Dislikes

The infrastructure of the college is quite old. The campus lacks modern architecture and all the buildings seems to be made in the late 90's. Although new hostels and departments are being made but the old building need renovation.
The number of faculties are also less. The number of professors in each branch is not up to the requirement. Due to which we often have merge with other branches for lectures. The lab equipments present are also not updated with present time.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario of BIT Sindri is good it is one of the few colleges where even the core branches get good placements the students become eligible for placments by their 6th semester. The companies coming for core are Vedanta, Tata Steel ,JSW steel , JSL , JSPl and many more. The average packages offered by Vedanta and Tata Steel is around 13 Lpa and around 6-8 lpa for JSW and remaining companies. For the circuital branches like CSE/IT and ECE a lot of companies come for placements like Samsung, Amazon , TCS Prime, Yamaha ,Hitachi etc. The average packages offered by these companies range from 10 to 16 lpa where as DE Shaw offers the highest pacakge that is around 50 lpa. This was the highest pacakge of the year 2023. The percentage of students getting placed is also greater than 90% in most of the cases. My plan after getting the degree is to get a good placment at MAANGs.

The campus is very silent and nature friendly.
The friend circle you get is very nice and supportive.
The faculty members are very supportive in nature.

Dislikes

The infrastructure needs to be renovated.
The campus needs more lighting and cleanliness.
More fests and events should be conducted.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester student become eligible for campus placements. There are various companies that visit the campus. Companies like Vedanta , ABG , JSW , JSPL , Deloitte , TCS visit here and hire students in bulk. About 80-90% of students gets placed here. I am going to work in an IT company after getting the degree.

The Lush green campus of BIT Sindri has been a eye-catching and attractive place for students, the tidy hostels, cafeteria etc are worth more than any other NITs.
The Faculty of BIT is really supportive as I am in the final year of Mechanical Engineering, the professors here are really helpful and caring. You get a lot of time for self study and for the preparation of other exams as well.
The placements in this college is really good. More than 80% students get placed every year with a top salary of 54 LPA and avg salary of 7 LPA. A very supportive TPO works day in day out for the student's placement.

Dislikes

The infrastructure of this college is a bit lagging as compared to other NITs and IITs as it is old and lacks some sports complex, swimming pool etc.
Research and Development program is very less promoted in this college, so students interested in research work should refrain from this college
Lack of diversity in college students as all students belong to the same state of Jharkhand because the college is not autonomous.

Placement Experience:

Placement are really good in BIT, I my self being placed in JSW have a good experience. After the 6th semester students get eligible for the placements and start appearing for the companies interviews and GDs. The highest package is 52LPA by D.E.SHAW and the avg package is 7LPA. Mostly GET role is offered but MTT and MTS roles are also offered here. More than 80% students get placed every year before the end of college course.

Why You should apply for BIT SINDRI

Likes

Most attractive thing about the college is the college library and the surrounding.
Classes scheduled being held on regular basis.
Professors guidance and mentorship all throughout the academic session

Dislikes

Travelling facilities inside the campus should be more convenient for the students

Placement Experience:

The placement graph is increasing every year as from 2018 900+ job opportunities was being provided by the college and till 2020 the graph as increased to 1000+ job opportunities in very highly reputed companies of India like TATA STEEL,JSW, ADITYA BIRLA GROUP.

BIT SINDRI, A complete review

Likes

The college has a good environment and a good infrastructure. The faculty members are well qualified and are open to communicate
It provides the student with a lot of opportunities to indulge in extra curricular activities such as sports,clubs etc.
There are a variety of clubs and societies in the college which gives the student exposure to learn new things as well as conduct events.

Dislikes

Cultural fests are not organised oftenly
There should be more training programmes.

Placement Experience:

Placement scenario in college is quite well and about 80-90% of the students are provided with placement offers. The students become eligible for the placement drive from their 6th semester which continues upto the end of their session. Very reputed companies visited the college such as JSW, TATA STEEL, TATA POWER, ITC, VEDANTA, SAMSUNG, DELOITTE, YAMAHA etc. and many more reputed companies. This year the highest package offered was 15 lakh per annum by Samsung and the average package was 6LPA. The students are hired for the role of GET that is graduate engineer trainee and IT companies hired for the role of analysts, software developer etc. To work for such reputed companies just after getting the degree is an opportunity that noone should miss.

Why to opt for Mining Engineering as a career choice from BIT Sindri.

In context with the Department of Mining Engineering BIT Sindri, the faculity here are very supportive in nature.
The teaching here can be compared to an IIT level. This year i.e 2020 GATE MN almost 8 students got rank below AIR 100, with highest rank as AIR 3 and around 15 students got rank less than AIR 600.
The entire intership process for 2nd,3rd and final year are facilated by the facility of the Department of Mining Engineering within various companies like UCIL,BCCL,ECL and SAIL etc..

Placement Experience:

Placements here are very good. A very good ROI can be achieved here. If I talk about the Mining Department only almost 80 % students are placed in core companies like VEDANTA,JPL,JSPL,ADANI,ABG etc. With an average package of 8 lakhs and highest 16.6 lakhs . Fact- Mining branch has the record of grabing the highest placement package from other core branches i.e 16.6 lakhs by VEDANTA.

From what I’ve heard from my friend who is currently a student of BIT Sindri, there is ample time for students to prepare for exams like UPSC, GATE, etc.

The area of the campus is about 400 acres. BIT Sindri is a good engineering college and is located in the town of Sindri which is 25km from the city of Dhanbad.
BIT Sindri has a total of 26 hostels for boys and girls. The different departments of the college are allotted their own buildings for their classes and activities.
There is an auditorium on the campus. There have been some reports of ragging, though, in the first and second years.
The best departments in the institute by far are mining and metal because of good placements.
Lately, a number of good companies are visiting the campus so the statistics of placements are improving by the day. The average CTC has been recorded to be 4.51 LPA while the highest salary is 10.12 LPA.

The institute also holds an enviable rank amongst other engineering institutes of Jharkhand.
