Government Engineering College Sreekrishnapuram Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

The placement cell of the collage work is extremely hard. And many companies such as TCS Infosys do come here. Approximately 36 companies are available for the cs dept and the highest package acquired isa 16 LPA.approximately 90 Percy gets placed here.

In mechanical engineering there is about 70 students in a class. Some of the lecturers are not permanent. There are some guest lecturer. Some of the lecturers teaching quality is good and some are average. There are two series exam it is held in monthly. Some of the subjects is difficult.

From semester 7 onwards students get placed. Mostly TCS, and Wipro are hiring students almost 40 to 50 percent of students in the computer science branch are getting placed. The average package should be around 3-5 lakh per annum.

Electronics and communication engineering is considered the backbone of the communication system. As compared to other branches, there is more interdisciplinary specialization in higher studies for ECE students like Embedded systems, VLSI, Signal processing, etc. GEC Palakkad has highly qualified and friendly teaching staff there to guide and clear all doubts at any time. Other than teachers there has efficient lab technicians and guides to help students. Internal exams and class tests are conducted monthly so make students more confident to face semester exams. The level of exams is moderate to tough. If anyone has trouble cracking exams there will be special remedy classes are given.

Around 45% of the students were recruited to the top companies like Infosys, Mahindra, Microsoft etc. As the chance of placement is high in government colleges the students in this college are recruited every year.

There is a lot of campus placements in this college. But it is only available for 5th and 6th-semester students. Infotech& google are the major companies visits here. A number of students get jobs in each company In each year, about 30 students get the job opportunities and offers. About 20% of students get placements. After course completion, I want to join any of the main companies like infotech.

Mechanical engineering is high scope for job opportunities both here and abroad. As mechanical engineering is my ambition too. There are 66 students in my class. And around 60 students in the rest of the branches. For 1 sem 6 subjects are there and 8 teaching staff are there including lab section. Though the classes are online through the live interactive section with recorded classes and PowerPoint presentations and animation it is better than offline classes. Teachers always there to help and guide and to clear any doubts at any time. Assignment and lab works are given in google Classroom with a scheduled time of submission. And internal marks are given according to performance like timely submission active interaction etc. In each semester 2-3 series examination conducted and is conducted online and is strict. It is not that difficult only 2-3 modules for each subject. It also helps to reduce the burden in sem examination.

S6 itself students are capable of their placements based on the marks they are getting from college. Since it is a government college placements are high because it is among the top 10engineering colleges in Kerala. My plan is to get placed in any company and get experience for 5 months to 6 months then I want to go abroad and look for a job.

There is plenty of placement opportunities. Students in the final year of studies can apply to the college placement cell to be considered for placements when companies come around with the offers. Companies such as TCS, Wipro, Microsoft, Mahindra, Litmus7, Infosys, and so on have visited and recruited students in the past. Usual packages include 3-5 CTC and it has gone as high as 15 CTC at times
